Mohun Bagan Super Giant returned to winning ways with a dramatic comeback victory over Punjab FC in the national capital to kick off proceedings for Gameweek 14. The Mariners conceded an early goal but came back to score three in a row to add three more points to their tally. Ricky Shabong went all on his own through the left flank and opened the scoring in the 12th minute.

The away side came up with a few fair chances in response but failed to get anything substantial in the first half. Mohun Bagan came out all guns blazing in the second half and pulled a goal back, thanks to a header from Alberto Rodríguez. Jamie Maclaren scored from the penalty spot before Alberto Rodríguez added a second goal and put the game to bed.

The upper half of the table remains unchanged following tonight’s result. Mohun Bagan continue to lead the standings with 29 points in 13 games. Bengaluru FC are still placed second with 24 points followed by FC Goa at the third position with 22 points. Mumbai City FC continue to occupy the fourth position with 20 points. Odisha FC are still ranked fifth with 19 points while NorthEast United continue at the sixth position with 18 points.

Punjab FC are ranked seventh with 18 points in 12 games. Jamshedpur FC are placed eighth with 18 points followed by Chennaiyin FC at ninth with 15 points. Kerala Blasters haven’t moved from the tenth position and have 14 points to their name. East Bengal continue to be placed eleventh with 13 points. Hyderabad hold the twelfth spot with seven points while Mohammedan SC sit at the bottom of the table with five points.
