ISL 2024-25: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after match 89, East Bengal vs Mumbai City FC
Mumbai City grabbed tough three points against East Bengal FC today in ISL.
Mumbai City FC and East Bengal staged a spectacle at the Salt Lake stadium in the final game of Gameweek 15 of the Indian Super League (ISL). The Islanders emerged victorious and took home all three points against the Kolkata Giants and have stormed into the top six in the process.
East Bengal only have themselves to blame as individual errors and a lack of synergy cost them the game. The visitors started strong and eventually broke the deadlock when Lallianzuala Chhangte found the back of the net.
Yoëll van Nieff set up Nikolaos Karelis for the second goal and the Greek forward made no mistake in putting it past Prabhsukhan Gill as the Islanders took a 0-2 lead into half-time. East Bengal came all out in the second half and pulled a goal back when Sahil Panwar hit the ball into his net.
David Lalhlansanga brought his side back on level terms in the 83rd minute and just when it seemed that we were heading for a draw, Karelis scored his second goal and won the game for the away side.
