The Gaurs won over the Yellow and Black by a 2-0 scoreline.

Thangboi Singto’s Hyderabad FC suffered defeat in yet another home game, which took place at the GMC Balayogi Stadium, Hyderabad, on 04 December 2024, during the 11th Gameweek of the Indian Super League.

Despite several scoring opportunities and having shots on target, the Nawabs could not find the back of the net. This inability proved costly to the Yellow and Black, as FC Goa capitalized on their opportunities to secure a decisive victory.

Thangboi Singto’s thoughts

“I think we had around 20 or 21 shots. And seven were on target. But the chances, which were the last part of the game where we crossed and Alan Paulista tried, I think we didn’t take those half chances. I told the boys that we have to be taking shots and get numbers there in the box and it happened. But it’s about the finesse, it’s about the clinical,” Thangboi Singto said.

“For the first goal that we conceded, we lost the ball in the midfield and it was countered. And the second goal again, I think it was from our mistake again.

“Because as a team, I think we played better than the previous. But again, it’s about goals. Conceding two goals. And I think we had our chances. I think we should be more aggressive on the box, I think. You know, with the throw-ins, the crosses,” Thangboi Singto stated.

This match also highlighted Hyderabad FC’s struggles in the final third which has been a recurring theme that has been bothering Thangboi Singto’s men throughout the season.

“The second balls, we need to be quicker and sharper there. Because it was there for us to take some of the goals, I think. So we need to be better, At the moment, there are a lot of things in my mind.”

But we were not good enough at the moment, so we know. And we have to step up. We have to work harder. We have to look for and find solutions, like whether changing the system will work or changing the personnel.” He concluded.
