10. Rahim Ali (54 seconds)
In an exhilarating clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Kerala Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC played out an incredible 3-3 draw in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season. The match kicked off with a thrilling start as Chennaiyin FC’s Rahim Ali, who had recovered from injury just in time, netted a goal in a mere 54 seconds, putting the visitors in the lead.
9. Wim Raymaekers (53 seconds)
During the inaugural season of the ISL, Delhi Dynamos defender Wim Raymaekers delivered a stunning goal against Chennaiyin FC. Assisted by Shylo Malsawmtluanga, Raymaekers’ left-footed strike from just outside the box found the top corner, courtesy of a corner from Alessandro Del Piero that reached Shylo. The goal stands out as one of the finest long-range attempts witnessed in the ISL’s history.
8. Anirudh Thapa (52 seconds)
In ISL 2020-21, the current Mohun Bagan player showcased his brilliance by finding the net in just 52 seconds against Jamshedpur FC. Esmael Goncalves delivered a precise grounded cross from the right flank, connecting with Thapa at the edge of the 18-yard box. With clinical precision, the Indian international struck the ball, leaving Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper TP Rehenesh’s diving attempt futile as the ball nestled into the net.
7. Mohammed Rafi (48 seconds)
Mohammed Rafi was already a veteran in Indian football when he scored in 48 seconds against FC Pune City in 2015. The assist came in the form of a cross from Chris Dagnall, to be headed by Rafi to beat Steve Simonsen between the posts.
Unfortunately, the Yellow Army still ended up losing, as Kalu Uche’s brace and Tuncay Sanli’s goal helped the Stallions win 3-2.
6. Daniel Chima Chukwu (46 seconds)
In the ISL 2021-22 clash against Bengaluru FC, Jamshedpur asserted dominance right from the start as Chima found the back of the net within the first minute, marking his second consecutive goal since joining the team. Alexandre Lima initiated the play by driving through the midfield before feeding Borish Singh, who set up Chima. Positioned between Alan Costa and Roshan Naorem, Chima controlled the ball adeptly before unleashing a powerful shot into the roof of the net, putting Jamshedpur in an early lead.
5. Vishnu Puthiya (32 seconds)
East Bengal FC winger Vishnu Puthiya grabbed attention by scoring the fastest goal of the current ISL season, breaking the deadlock just 32 seconds into the match. Immediately after kickoff, Vishnu surged down the right flank, collecting the ball at the edge of the box. Skillfully maneuvering past Jerry Lalrinzuala and Carlos Delgado, he unleashed an instinctive shot that sailed beyond Odisha FC goalkeeper Amrinder Singh, propelling his side into an early lead in the contest.
4. Chris Dagnall (29 seconds)
Chris Dagnall, who assisted Rafi’s goal as mentioned above, was a part of this list himself. The Englishman scored in the 29th second against hosts NorthEast United in ISL 2015. The goal came off an assist from Antonio German on the left flank.
3. Cleiton Silva (25 seconds)
In a thrilling encounter during the ISL 2020-21 edition, Bengaluru FC emerged victorious with a 4-2 win over Mumbai City. The deadlock was shattered just 25 seconds into the match when Sunil Chhetri’s precise through ball from the midfield found Udanta Singh on the right flank.
Udanta swiftly delivered a cross into the box, where Cleiton Silva awaited. The Brazilian’s powerful shot aimed at the top corner left little chance for the Islanders’ goalkeeper Amrinder Singh to make a save, setting the tone for an action-packed match.
2. Jerry Mawihmingthanga (23 seconds)
In 2018, Jerry Mawihmingthanga, then a youthful 20-year-old playing for Jamshedpur FC, made his mark by scoring in the 23rd second of the game against Kerala Blasters. Following a series of swift passes, the ball found its way to Ashim Biswas, whose attempt went astray.
Seizing the opportunity, Jerry intercepted the loose ball and made no mistake in converting his chance into a goal, demonstrating his composure and opportunism on the field.
1. David Williams (12 seconds)
In a thrilling encounter during the ISL 2021/22 season between ATK Mohun Bagan and Hyderabad FC, David Williams etched his name in history by opening the scoring within the first 12 seconds, making him the fastest goalscorer in ISL history.
Assisted by Hugo Boumous, Williams unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, finding the back of the net with precision. Despite Williams’ early strike, Hyderabad FC mounted a comeback to secure a 2-2 draw.
