Several new Indian players performed well in this week’s ISL showdown.

Gameweek 13 of the Indian Super League (ISL) brought thrilling matches and standout performances from Indian players. East Bengal showcased resilience, completing a stunning 4-2 comeback win in their first game against Punjab FC

The Red and Gold also secured a second victory against Jamshedpur FC, continuing their impressive form with four wins in five games.

Elsewhere, FC Goa humbled league leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant with a 2-1 home win, asserting their dominance. Mumbai City FC returned to form with a narrow 1-0 win over Chennaiyin FC, marking back-to-back victories for the Islanders. Kerala Blasters, under new coach Tomasz Tchorz, delivered a commanding win over Mohammedan Sporting in Kochi, reigniting hopes of a playoff push.

NorthEast United also produced a remarkable display, overturning a two-goal deficit to triumph 5-2 against Hyderabad FC following the same script of the first game of the gameweek in the last gameweek. 

The week highlighted the contributions of Indian players, who continue to excel in pivotal moments.

5) Anwar Ali

East Bengal faced a challenging week, grappling with injuries and suspensions, which prompted coach Oscar Bruzon to deploy Anwar Ali in an unfamiliar midfield role. While initially adjusting to the positional demands against Punjab FC, Anwar Ali grew in confidence as the match progressed, showcasing his adaptability. 

Against Kerala Blasters, he displayed composure and tactical awareness, seamlessly transitioning into his new role and proving to be a dependable option for his team.

4) Macarton Louis Nickson

NorthEast United’s midfielder Macarton Louis Nickson was pivotal in their stunning comeback victory over Hyderabad FC. Known for his crisp one-touch football and remarkable passing range, Mcarton orchestrated the Highlanders’ midfield with poise and precision. 

He had 24 successful passes out of 28 attempted passes against Hyderabad FC.His ability to create opportunities and maintain composure under pressure turned the game in favor of NorthEast, marking him as a key player in their tactical setup.

3) Korou Singh

The 17-year-old prodigy from Kerala Blasters was the star of their emphatic win against Mohammedan Sporting. Despite his young age, Korou Singh exhibited maturity beyond his years, using his pace and intelligence to exploit spaces and unsettle the opposition’s defense.

Although he registered just one assist, his relentless work rate and creative flair were instrumental in driving the Blasters to a much-needed victory.

2) PV Vishnu

East Bengal’s PV Vishnu continued his stellar form, playing a decisive role in both games of the week. Against Punjab FC, his goal initiated a remarkable comeback, energizing his team and setting the tone for the match. 

In the second game, his brilliant off-the-ball movement and awareness led to Dimitrios Diamantakos’ crucial goal, further solidifying his growing reputation as a game-changer for the Kolkata side.

1) Brison Fernandes

Brison Fernandes was the standout Indian performer of the week, delivering a match-winning performance in FC Goa’s high-stakes clash against Mohun Bagan. The midfielder scored both goals in their 2-1 victory, showcasing his ability to read the game and find crucial spaces. 

His first goal, a deflected shot, opened the scoring, while his expertly timed header sealed the win. Brison’s clinical finishing and intelligent positioning were vital in securing three points for the Gaurs.
