Bengaluru FC’s players headline this week’s best players as their solid displays fueled a dominant showcase.

Matchweek 3 of the Indian Super League (ISL) saw six action-packed games of the highest quality, with drama unfolding, records being made, and constant ups and downs in the points table.

The match week started with Punjab FC extending their impeccable winning streak in the league, followed by a historic win for Mohammedan SC against Chennaiyin FC. FC Goa got their first win of the season whilst giving East Bengal their third loss of the season.

The weekend saw two exciting fixtures being played on Saturday. Odisha FC won their first win game in an early kick-off game, followed by Bengaluru FC’s thrashing of reigning ISL League Winners’ Shield champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant.

The last game of the matchweek saw Northeast United FC and Kerala Blasters FC play out an interesting draw in Guwahati. Several players put in some special performances throughout this matchweek, who helped their teams with their amazing display.

With that being said, let us take a look at the top five Indian performers this week.

5. Gaurav Bora

Mohammedan SC registered their first-ever win in the Indian Super League over Chennaiyin FC, and a major contributor to this historic win was Gaurav Bora. The center-back was solid at the back, making many blocks and clearances throughout the game.

Gaurav made five recoveries and four duels and kept the likes of Daniel Chima Chukwu and Connor Shields at bay throughout the night. A prime example of his defensive prowess was witnessed when he receded into the goal and headed a looping ball off the line with a twin header alongside Vanlalzuidika.

4. Suresh Wangjam

Suresh scored his first goal of the new season against Mohun Bagan. The midfielder had a staggering 98% passing accuracy and was a terrorizing force in the midfield, both offensive and defensive. Suresh had four recoveries and won four duels, having an equally impressive attacking performance.

Isak had an amazing outing against Jamshedpur FC and played an integral part in his team’s first win of the new season. The winger had three shots, created two chances, and played eight passes into the final third, being nothing short of a menace in the attack for Odisha FC. He left a sour taste in the mouths of Jamshedpur’s defenders and also tactfully drew fouls all thanks to his pace on the turn.

2. Nikhil Poojary

Nikhil Poojary had one of his best performances in the Blues’ shirt against Mohun Bagan. The right-back got an assist to his name, and was pretty precise with his forward passes, creating several chances for his team. Defensively also, Nikhil won quite a few duels and helped his team keep a clean sheet against one of the best attacks in the league.

1. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu

With eight saves to his name against Mohun Bagan, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu put up one of the best performances of the 24-25 ISL season. Gurpreet was as solid as a rock in between the sticks and earned a hard-fought clean sheet against a misfiring yet potent Mohun Bagan attack. The Blue Tigers’ first-choice shot-stopper was brilliant with his distribution as well and played some great balls into the attacking half.
