ISL 2024-25: Vishal Kaith, Alberto Rodriguez highlight impenetrable Matchweek 12 Team of the Week defence

Some Indian players caught the eye with their excellent performances.
The Indian Super League (ISL) wrapped up yet another happening week of football. This week, we witnessed three red cards, the joint highest this season. Chennaiyin FC kicked off the proceedings with a solitary win over Hyderabad FC before Odisha FC pulled off a dramatic comeback win against ten men East Bengal.
Jamshedpur FC shocked Punjab FC with a 2-1 win at home followed by a four goal thriller between FC Goa and Bengaluru FC. Kerala Blasters dropped points yet again from a winning position as Mohun Bagan came back from behind to secure all three points. Mumbai City FC wrapped up the week with a hard fought win over Mohammedan SC.
On that note, let us take a look at Khel Now’s team of the week for game week 11.
Formation: 4-4-2
GK – Vishal Kaith (Mohun Bagan SG)

Vishal Kaith was the top performing goalkeeper this week in ISL. He stood tall against Kerala Blasters’ fierce forward line. Kaith made six saves, including three saves from inside the box. He came off his line and cleared the ball once and maintained a passing accuracy of nearly 80%. Moreover, he also made one clearance.
RB – Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa)
Sandesh Jhingan had a busy outing this week in ISL. He held his line and kept Bengaluru FC’s forwards in check. Jhingan made seven crucial clearances and also won the majority of his ground and aerial duels. He also had a shot on target which resulted in a goal for his side.
CB – Alberto Rodriguez (Mohun Bagan SG)
Alberto Rodriguez wrote his name in the history books by securing a last-minute winner for Mohun Bagan in a five-goal thriller against the Kerala Blasters in ISL. The Spaniard marked his comeback into the lineup with a match winning performance. Rodriguez made three clearances, one block and tackle each. He completed 89% of his passes as well.
CB – Tiri (Mumbai City FC)
Tiri put together a memorable performance for Mumbai City FC at the back and guided them to a much needed win. The Spanish defender kept things very tight at the back and made five clearances, three tackles and two interceptions alongside the block. He also won the majority of his duels and completed 79/89 passes, including two key passes.
LB – Laldinpuia (Chennaiyin FC)
The Chennaiyin FC defender has been one of the most consistent Indian players in the league this season. He has dropped in good performances at the back and helped the Marina Machans get over the line against Hyderabad FC. He made six interceptions, three tackles and two interceptions while completing 81% of his passes.
RM – Jerry Mawihmingthanga (Odisha FC)
Jerry has continued to build upon his newly found confidence. The right winger was on the scoresheet for Odisha FC as they mapped their way past East Bengal earlier this week. After a goalless run, Jerry has found the back of the net twice in the last three games. He maintained a passing accuracy of 80% and also hit the woodwork once.
CM – Hugo Boumous (Odisha FC)
Hugo Boumous was the main man for Odisha FC in their 2-1 triumph over the Red and Gold brigade. The French-Moroccan midfielder bought all his tricks to the pitch and troubled the Kolkata Giants in every possible way. He scored the winning goal and also had one more shot on target. Boumous executed three key passes and completed 2/2 dribbles.
CM – Sahil Tavora (FC Goa)
Sahil Tavora recorded his best performance of the season in the middle of the park for FC Goa. Tavora not only scored a goal but put together an all-round performance for his side. He was at the top of his game with his ball distribution. The 29-year-old won a lot of his duels and made four clearances and a tackle as well.

LM – Vikram Partap Singh (Mumbai City FC)
Vikram Partap Singh finally found the back of the net and brought an end to his goal drought. The left winger’s lone goal was the point of difference between Mumbai City FC and Mohammedan SC. He had three shots on target and made three tackles and one clearance as well. Moreover, he won 4/7 of his ground duels.
ST – Javier Siverio (Jamshedpur FC)
Javier Siverio fired on all cylinders this week and helped Jamshedpur FC secure an important win against Punjab FC. Siverio found the back of the net twice as the Red Miners clinched all three points with a 2-1 win. The Spanish target man had three shots on target and won 12 aerial duels and executed two key passess as well.
ST – Irfan Yadwad (Chennaiyin FC)
Irfan Yadwad was lively upfront for Chennaiyin FC as they bounced back to winning ways. The Indian international scored the only goal of the match with just five minutes into the game and helped his side come out on top. Yadwad won 11 ground duels and made six tackles, four interceptions and two clearances.
