ISL 2024-25: Jason Cummings, Javier Siverio highlight Matchweek 20 Team of the Week

Many Indian players impressed in the ISL gameweek 20.
We are 20 game weeks into the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL). This was the shortest game week with just four matches being played across three days. Punjab FC began the week with a last-minute comeback win over Bengaluru FC in the national capital where Luka Majcen secured all three points for the Shers with a strike in the 96th minute.
The second match witnessed Mohun Bagan pull off a 4-0 statement victory over Mohammedan SC in Kolkata and with this win, they are almost guaranteed the league shield and a top-of-the-table finish. Jamshedpur FC brought an end to FC Goa’s 12-match unbeaten run with a 3-1 win at the Furnace before NorthEast United and Odisha FC shared spoils in a four-goal thriller at the Kalinga Stadium.
On that note, let us take a look at Khel Now’s team of the week for game week 20.
Formation: 3-5-2
GK – Vishal Kaith (Mohun Bagan SG)
Vishal Kaith makes yet another appearance in the team of the week in ISL. Kaith was the one goalkeeper to maintain a clean sheet this week and pulled off two saves in the process. He made one save from inside the box and came off this line once to make an important clearance. He also maintained a passing accuracy of 82% and became the first-ever goalkeeper to reach the milestone of 50 ISL clean sheets.
CB – Lazar Ćirković (Jamshedpur FC)
The Serbian defender was not only rock solid at the back but also turned up the ante with a wonder goal in ISL this week. Ćirković found the back of the net with a screamer and scored his debut ISL goal to help Jamshedpur FC complete the league double over FC Goa. In addition to a goal, he made five ball recoveries, three clearances and won all of his aerial duels.
CB – Thoiba Singh (Odisha FC)
Thoiba was one of the finest defenders this week. He stood tall against NorthEast United’s fierce attacking unit and made five clearances and three interceptions in ISL this week. He also made two interceptions and one crucial block. Singh put his body on the line for the Juggernauts and also scored a towering header to salvage a point for his side. The 22-year-old won all of his aerial and ground duels.
CB – Subhasish Bose (Mohun Bagan SG)
The 29-year-old has been exceptional at the back and has also made notable contributions upfront. Bose netted a brace in ISL this week taking his tally to six goals and has now become the second joint-highest Indian goalscorer in the ongoing season. Moreover, he also recorded six interceptions, two tackles, one clearance and one block each while completing 92% of his passes.

CDM – Apuia (Mohun Bagan SG)
Apuia was solid in the middle of the park. He executed 89% of his passes to perfection while executing one key pass. The 24-year-old also created one big chance while making five ball recoveries, three tackles and interceptions. Moreover, he also won all of his ground duels and held Mohun Bagan’s midfield together.
CDM – Pratik Chowdhary (Jamshedpur FC)
Pratik Chowdhary makes his second consecutive appearance in the team of the week as his presence at the back has been highly influential for Jamshedpur FC this season. He made eight clearances, four interceptions and two ball recoveries throughout the game. Pratik won 6/6 of his aerial duels and one ground duel while completing four long balls and kept FC Goa’s attacking unit at bay.
RM – Manvir Singh (Mohun Bagan SG)

Manvir produced his best performance of the season so far and helped Mohun Bagan secure the bragging rights against their city rivals Mohammedan SC. The Indian international found the back of the net twice with two sublime finishes and guided the Mariners to a perfect win at home. He recorded three shots on target and won six duels while making two interceptions, one tackle and one clearance each.
CAM – Isak Vanlalruatfela (Odisha FC)
Isak came on in the second half for the first time since the turn of the year and stood up as the messiah for the Juggernauts who were behind in the game. Isak created the first goal with a pinpoint pass into the box before scoring a late equaliser to rescue a much-needed point for his side. He did everything on his own and turned the game on its head with a miraculous performance.
LM – Alaeddine Ajaraie (NorthEast United FC)
Alaeddine Ajaraie continues to shine and help NorthEast United climb up the ladder. The Moroccan forward was on the scoresheet twice against Odisha FC and also made it to the history books in the process. With 18 goals and five assists, Ajaraie is now on level with Ferran Corominas for the most number of goal contributions in a single ISL season (23). He scored two brilliant-headed goals as the Highlanders came away with a point from Bhubaneswar.
ST – Javier Siverio (Jamshedpur FC)

The Spanish forward scored a couple of goals as Jamshedpur FC hammered FC Goa in front of their home fans. Siverio was lethal and brutal upfront and showed no mercy for the opposition defenders. He came very close to scoring a hat trick but ended up hitting the woodwork. He also made two ball recoveries and clearances each while completing 85% of his passes and executing one key pass.
ST – Jason Cummings (Mohun Bagan SG)
Jason Cummings took up the creative role in Bagan’s 4-0 triumph over Mohammedan SC. The striker from down under set up Manvir Singh twice for a brace and recorded two assists in the process. Cummings also had a shot on target and made six key passes along the way. He won the majority of his aerial duels and all of his ground duels while making one interception and tackling each.
