ISL 2024-25: Alaaeddine Ajaraie, Subhasish Bose highlight Matchweek 22 Team of the Week

Many Indian players impressed in the ISL gameweek 22.
The 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) recently wrapped up its 22nd gameweek and took one step closer to the all-important playoffs. The week kicked off with FC Goa’s motivating win over Mumbai City FC away from home before NorthEast United recorded another win on the road and continued their splendid away form with a win against Jamshedpur FC.
Odisha FC then secured a comeback win against Hyderabad FC in Bhubaneswar. Chennaiyin FC settled scores with Punjab FC with a 2-1 before Mohun Bagan ran riot against the Kerala Blasters in Kochi. The final game of the week witnessed East Bengal secure the bragging rights in the Kolkata Mini derby with a win over Mohammedan SC.
On that note, let us take a look at Khel Now’s team of the week for game week 22.
Formation: 4-4-2
GK – Gurmeet Singh (NorthEast United FC)
Gurmeet stood tall between the sticks and guided NorthEast United FC to a crucial win on the road this week in ISL. Singh made two saves, including one diving save and one save from inside the box. He made 24 ball recoveries while recording three punchouts and one high claim. The 25-year-old also made three clearances and clinched his sixth clean sheet of the season in the process.
RB – Redeem Tlang (NorthEast United FC)
Redeem Tlang continues to drop in inspiring performances at the right-back position. Tlang made notable contributions on both ends of the pitch. He executed eight tackles, three interceptions, two clearances and one block. He won 10/14 ground duels and made five passes into the final third. The 29-year-old also made eight ball recoveries and kept a check on Jamshedpur’s attacking line.
CB – Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa)

Jhingan stood tall like a wall in FC Goa’s backline. He made four clearances, three interceptions and one block. He also made two crucial; ball recoveries while executing 89% of his passes to perfection this week in ISL.. The Indian international also made one tackle and completed two long balls. His presence at the back has served as a game-changer for FC Goa this season and has played a crucial part in fueling their playoff aspirations.
CB – Subhasish Bose (Mohun Bagan SG)
Subhasish Bose is possibly enjoying his best-ever season in the Indian top flight. He has been highly consistent in all areas of the pitch and has dropped in multiple impactful performances. Bose made six ball recoveries along with six clearances and four blocks this week in ISL. He also made one goal-line clearance and made seven passes into the final third. The 29-year-old also won 2/2 tackles.
LB – Saviour Gama (Odisha FC)
Savior Gama makes his first appearance in the team of the week. He gave a good account of himself at the left-back position and kept things tight at the back while making notable contributions in attack. Savior made three clearances, including one clearance off the line. He also recorded three ball recoveries and two interceptions. The 27-year-old also won tackles and duels each.
RM – Udanta Singh (FC Goa)
Udanta Singh looked sharp on the right wing for FC Goa against Mumbai City FC this week in ISL.. he created four chances and also racked up an assist in the process. Singh had four touches in the opposition box and completed 3/3 dribbles. He also made five ball recoveries and two interceptions while winning five duels. The 28-year-old completed 88% of his passes, including one pass into the final third.

CM – Hugo Boumous (Odisha FC)
Hugo Boumous took centre stage as Odisha FC got the better of Hyderabad FC this week in ISL. He created six chances, the most by any player in the entire game and also racked up a goal in the process. Boumous also set up Mourtada Fall for the all-important equalizer in the first half. He had five touches in the opposition box while executing 14 passes into the final third. The Frenchman also made seven ball recoveries alongside one headed clearance and interception each.
CM – Naorem Mahesh Singh (East Bengal FC)
Mahesh put up an exceptional performance for East Bengal this week. He was involved in the thick of things and guided East Bengal to a win in the Kolkata mini derby. Singh made notable contributions on both ends of the pitch. He scored one goal while recording three tackles and two ball recoveries. He won six duels and had three touches in the opposition box. The 25-year-old also executed 81% of his passes to perfection, including five passes into the final third.
LM – Iker Guarrotxena (FC Goa)
The Spaniard led the charge for FC Goa in their triumph over Mumbai City FC this week. He registered two shots on target and scored two match-winning goals in the process. Guarrotxena had four touches in the opposition box and executed five passes into the final third. The 32-year-old also made one clearance and ball recovery each while executing two key passes to perfection.
ST – Alaaeddine Ajaraie (NorthEast United FC)
The Moroccan forward has taken the league by storm. He scored a match-winning brace this week and fired his side to an all-important away win. Ajaraie now holds the record for the most number of goal contributions in a single season (25). He created four chances, the most by any player in that game and also executed five passes into the final third. The 32-year-old also made seven ball recoveries, two clearances and one interception.
ST – Jamie Maclaren (Mohun Bagan SG)

Jamie Maclaren fired Mohun Bagan to a record-breaking 15th win of the season. The striker from down underscored a couple of goals and now has four goals in his last two games. The Aussie forward had three touches in the opposition box and he also made three ball recoveries in the process. Maclaren seems to have found his mojo at Mohun Bagan and is expected to fire on all cylinders in the upcoming games.
