Some Indian players caught the eye with their excellent performances.

The Indian Super League (ISL) wrapped up yet another emphatic and entertaining week of football. It all began with FC Goa’s hard-fought win against the Kerala Blasters away from home followed by East Bengal’s maiden win of the season. The Red and Golds brought down NorthEast United and secured their first three points of the season.

Mumbai City FC returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Hyderabad FC before Mohun Bagan snapped a late win against Chennaiyin FC at home. Odisha FC ran riot against Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC finally bounced back to winning ways with a win against Mohammedan SC.

On that note, let us take a look at Khel Now’s team of the week for game week 10.

Formation: 4-4-2

Goalkeeper – Albino Gomes (Jamshedpur FC)

Albino Gomes was the most impressive goalkeeper in the week gone by. He helped his side finally return to winning ways with his heroics under the bar.

He kept Mohammedan SC at bay for the majority of the game and also pulled off a penalty save at the end. He made four saves, including three saves from inside the box and took his side over the line.

Right Back – Boris Singh (FC Goa)

Boris Ingh put up a man-of-the-match performance against the Kerala Blasters and helped FC Goa secure yet another win. He was solid at the right-back position and contributed on both ends of the pitch.

Singh scored the winner for his side in the first half and also went on to make three clearances, two blocks and one tackle each.

Center Back – Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa)

Sandesh Jhingan seems to be regaining his best form and has looked very good ever since his return to the pitch.

The Indian international stood like a rock in the heart of the backline for FC Goa and kept Kerala Blasters’ star-studded attacking unit in check. Jhingan had a busy outing as he made nine clearances and three blocks.

Center Back – Anwar Ali (East Bengal FC)

Anwar Ali was the point of difference between NorthEast United and East Bengal this week. Ali defended his crest with his heart on his sleeves and did not bow down against the Highlanders’ overpowered attacking lineup.

Anwar Ali kept Alaeddine Ajarie in check every time he came his way and cleared his lines with perfection. He pulled off nine clearances and one block and interception each.

Left Back – Jerry Lalrinzuala (Odisha FC)

Jerry was involved in the thick of things as Odisha FC ran riot against Bengaluru FC at the Kalinga Stadium. The left-back was at the top of his game and made multiple game-changing contributions.

He provided an assist and also made four interceptions and a block while 80% of his passes, including a key pass.

Right Midfielder – Jerry Mawihmingthanga (Odisha FC)

Jerry marked his best-ever performance this season with his maiden goal of ISL 2024-25. It was an emotional moment for the winger who had last scored a goal in September 2023.

The right winger looked very good and operated at his best. He maintained a passing accuracy of 90% and also executed a key pass. He won two of his ground duels and put in a crucial performance for his side.

Centre Midfielder – Ahmed Jahouh (Odisha FC)

Ahmed Jahouh pulled the strings with perfection for Sergio Lobera’s side as they took Bengaluru FC to the floor on a cold evening in Bhubaneswar. Jahouh toyed with the Blues and made it seem like an easy job.

He completed 43/53 passes, including a key pass and also racked up an assist in the process. The Moroccan made two clearances and an interception while winning the majority of his ground duels.

Centre Midfielder – Greg Stewart (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)

Greg Stewart came on late in the second half and turned the game on its head. The Scottish midfielder looked lively from the get-go and wrapped up an important win for his side within a few seconds after coming on.

Stewart set up Jason Cummings for the winning goal and also hit the woodwork twice to hand Chennaiyin FC a defeat in Kolkata.

Left Midfielder – Mohammed Sanan (Jamshedpur FC)

Mohammed Sanan was one of the most entertaining young Indian players to watch in Gameweek 10. He has already made it to the headlines with his stellar performances earlier in the season and added one more feather to his cap against Mohammedan SC.

Sanan used his pace and creativity to score a wonderful goal from the left flank. He also had two shots on target and executed two key passes as well.

Striker – Diego Mauricio (Odisha FC)

Diego Mauricio was the most impactful striker this week and the only one to find the back of the net twice. He led his side from the front and scored a goal each across both halves to hand Bengaluru FC a shambolic defeat at the Kalinga. Mauricio didn’t misplace a single pass and executed 14/14 of his passes to perfection.

Striker – Javier Siverio (Jamshedpur FC)

Javier Siverio also emerged as one of the top performers this week. The Spanish target man came to his side’s rescue with a goal and a match-winning performance.

Siverio is a true poacher and pounces on the first opportunity that he gets. His true striker instincts coupled with his physicality and ability to come back and help out his teammates make him a perfect team player.
