IWL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals after East Bengal FC vs Sribhumi FC

East Bengal goes five points clear atop IWL table

The Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2025-26 is underway after a long international break during which the Blue Tigresses represented the country in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 and also won the bronze medal in the FIFA Series in Kenya.

The IWL resumed with one leftover fixture where two teams from West Bengal, defending IWL champions East Bengal FC, locked horns with Sribhumi Football Club.

The game began with top scorer Fazila Ikwaput breaking the deadlock in the 37th minute. Anthony Andrews’ side then went on to score two more goals as the Ugandan striker found her hat-trick to make it 3-0 for East Bengal in the 60th minute.

Sribhumi did try to make a comeback after Rimpa pulled one back for the Chandanngar outfit, but it was too late for Sujata Kar’s side as East Bengal won the game 3-1 against Sribhumi FC.

In this article, we find out how this win will affect East Bengal’s points tally in the Indian Women’s League points table and find out what we have in store for the next matchdays.

With this win, the Moshal Girls have retained their supremacy at the top. The defending champions are inching closer to the IWL trophy with every match week. They are now placed atop the points table after winning all of their first seven games.

Madurai-based Sethu FC are still in contention for the title race alongside NITA FC as they are five and eight points behind table toppers East Bengal, respectively.

Things have been pretty awful for SESA Football Academy, who managed to clinch just a solitary point in their first seven games.

Players with the most goals after matchweek 7 of IFL 2025-26

  • Fazila Ikwaput (East Bengal) – 12 goals
  • Pyari Xaxa (NITA FA) – 10 goals
  • Lynda Kom (Sethu) – 7 goals
  • Sullanjana Raul (East Bengal) – 5 goals
  • Soumya Guguloth (East Bengal) – 5 goals

What to expect from the next matches of IFL 2025-26

The next matchweek will begin with a thrilling clash where East Bengal are set to lock horns with Sethu in the top-of-the-table clash. It will be a golden opportunity for the Chennai outfit to reduce their point deficit with East Bengal and have a shot at the IWL title.

NITA FA will play Kickstart, whereas Gokulam will host SESA, who must win their next few games to save themselves from relegation. Sreebhumi, who lost tonight, will be keen to get back to winning ways with a win over Garhwal in the next matchweek.
