IWL 2025-26: NITA FA embarrass Kickstart FC, East Bengal FC overcome Garhwal United FC in Round 3

The IWL Round 3 fixtures was once again full of goals and scintillating performances.
The third round of the Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2025-26 season continued with goals flying into the net across the games on Saturday, with teams like East Bengal FC and NITA FA claiming important wins.
Following the conclusion of the third round, NITA FA became the new league leaders, as they triumphed over Kickstart Karnataka FC following a 0-5 win. Defending IWL champions East Bengal FC also earned an important 2-1 win over Garhwal United FC, spearheading their title defense this season.
NITA FA hammer five past Kickstart Karnataka FC

NITA FA kicked off the Round 3 gameweek with five star performance in a 0-5 away win over Kickstart Karnataka FC, continuing their fantastic goal-scoring form. A hattrick from Pyari Xaxa, along with goals from Neha Sillay and Amiratou N’djambara capped off a brilliant attacking game, inflicting further misery on Kickstart’s IWL campaign this season.
Sribhumi FC also secured an important win with winger Anju Tamang scoring the only game of the contest in the 20th minute against SESA FA. In a round, where major contenders were playing each other during the gameweek, Sribhumi gained a crucial advantage to fuel their IWL title ambitions this season. The victory earns them three crucial points and moves them up the early season IWL table.

East Bengal FC trump Garhwal United FC

Defending champions East Bengal FC maintained their winning momentum with a huge 2-1 victory over Garhwal United FC on Saturday. The deadlock was broken in the 22nd minute when forward Sulanjana Raul opened the scoring for the home side. Fazila Ikwaput then added a second in the 63rd minute before Monisha Singha added a consolation goal in the 72nd minute.
A huge win for the champions, who will be keeping a close eye on Garhwal United FC in the upcoming rounds this season. The final game of Round 3 saw Gokulam Kerala FC draw 1-1 against Sethu FC in stoppage time.
Round 3 of the campaign has shaken up the IWL standings significantly with several teams moving up and down the table. The 2025-26 season could see a new champion being crowned this season if teams continue to progress as things stand.
