Jamie Maclaren: List of all trophies and individual honours
The A-League’s all-time top scorer has now moved to the Indian Super League
Jamie Maclaren signed a lucrative multi-year deal with the ISL side Mohun Bagan. But how much is the Socceroos striker actually worth?
That question could, of course, be answered with a variety of metrics. Amongst goals, assists, style of play, and other factors lies the most critical factor of them all: trophies.
Maclaren made his first senior appearance for A-League side Perth Glory at only 20 years of age. Starting out slowly he managed only two goals in 18 appearances.
The following season, however, the Aussie forward racked up nine goals and two assists in 20 appearances for the Glory.
Later in his career, he moved to Melbourne City where he had his biggest trophy haul. He also became the league’s all-time highest goalscorer and helped his side to four consecutive titles.
A dearth of trophies on the international front might be justified by Australia having to play in the toughest of competitions. However that could be possibly the only blemish on his illustrious career so far, filled with accolades.
Trophies won by Jamie Maclaren with Melbourne City FC
Before moving to the City Blues, Jamie Maclaren had his highest turnover with Brisbane Roar. The centre-forward went on two consecutive 20-goal seasons with one assist in each.
Maclaren’s move to Melbourne City FC was however destined to break his record and set a new one for the A-League itself. In a six-year stint with the club, the striker managed to score a mind-boggling 103 goals for them, with 2020-21 being his individual best (25 goals).
The A-League has a format similar to the Indian Super League, wherein there are two rounds of the competition. A regular league-based season concludes with a winner named the Premier trophy winner. Afterward, based on the standings, the top six teams progress to the Finals series. The winners of this knockout round are labeled A-League Champions.
Naturally, with his outstanding tally, Maclaren helped his side win the A-League Champion’s trophy once in 2021 and the minor premier or Premier trophy thrice in a row between 2020 and 2023.
- A-League Premier (3) – 2020–21, 2021–22, 2022–23
- A-League Champions – 2021
Individual honours for Jamie Maclaren
At an individual level, Jamie Maclaren is probably one of the most accomplished players in his country. The striker broke into the PFA A-League Team of the Season first in 2015-16 as he was also named the A-League Young Footballer of the Year in the same campaign.
In 2016, he was nominated for the Harry Kewell Medal. The accolade is an annual award named after Leeds United and Liverpool icon Harry Kewell and given for outstanding performance by an under-23 player playing in the A-League or overseas-based Australian players.
He ended the 2015-16 season with 20 goals and the following season he picked up the A-League Golden Boot for the first time in his career with the same numbers. He next achieved it in the 2019-20 season 23 goals this time. The same year he scored five times for the Socceroos as well.
He then helped his team to a three-peat of titles while picking up the A-League Golden Boot three more times and making it to the Team of the Season on every occasion. Maclaren also got called up to the A-Leagues All-Stars match in 2022 in which the A-Leagues All-Stars faced FC Barcelona.
Before his exit, Maclaren finished as the highest goalscorer in A-League’s history with 163 goals.

What hasn’t Maclaren achieved?
Maclaren started as a Scottish international player since his father has Scottish citizenship. Despite only featuring for the U20 side twice, the striker scored a goal against hosts Turkey in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
He has since been playing for Australia and has 29 goals in 64 appearances for them. Apart from those numbers, Maclaren hasn’t won any trophies or medals with his national team.
The forward has also never won the Australian Cup with any side and now that he’s in India, he is raring to go.
