The passionate fans gathered in numbers to voice their opposition of the club’s exit from Indian football, conveying the message to the stakeholders to preserve one of Indian football’s most important football institutions. This peaceful demonstration clearly shows the love for the club that the city has and how deeply rooted it is to Jamshedpur’s lifestyle.
Indian football fans from every corner of the country consisting of various fan groups have come in support to save Jamshedpur FC and preserve a historic part of Indian football.
Multiple former Jamshedpur FC players and Indian footballers have also come in support of the club and urged the higher ups to reconsider their decision for the sake of Indian football.
More than a club for the fans
Today the people of Jamshedpur have shown that this club represents more than just 90 minutes of football on the pitch. It represents the city’s identity, pride and togetherness. As uncertainty surrounds the club’s future fans turned up in number to appeal to the higher ups of TATA to reconsider their decision and allow Jamshedpur FC to compete in ISL moving forward. The fans carried banners like “Jam ke Khelo Jamshedpur”, “Dil Dil Jamshedpur” and “Save Jamshedpur FC” passionately expressing their love for the club.
A Jamshedpur FC fan shared an emotional message during the rally.
The fan said, “When someone’s home is taken away, they are left homeless. In the same way, if Jamshedpur FC is shut down, we too will be left homeless.”
