Jose Molina expresses feelings after dramatic late win takes Mohun Bagan to ISL 2024-25 final

Jose Molina’s Mohun Bagan are set to face Bengaluru FC in the ISL 2024-25 Finals.
Jose Molina’s Mohun Bagan kept it late to get a thrilling 2-0 win over Jamshedpur FC in the second leg of their 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) final at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata, on Monday (7 April 2025). Goals from Jason Cummings (51′) and a powerful Lalengmawia Ralte winner (94′) helped the Mariners win the tie on a 3-2 aggregate to book a place in the final against Bengaluru FC.
Jose Molina was an ecstatic man after the win, praising his team’s efforts and never-say-die style. He stated: “It was a really difficult game as Jamshedpur FC did a great job with their style, defending really good. They put us under pressure in trying to win. But, in my opinion, we deserved to win and be in the finals. Of course, with the late Apuia goal, that was absolutely amazing!
“It was a brilliant moment for us. We fight a lot during the 90 minutes to achieve that goal and finally Apuia was the lucky man to score, he deserved that! I’m really happy with the performance of the team and the way the players fought until the end, believing in themselves, staying calm and not getting impatient. They kept sticking to the plan until the last moment, not getting frustrated, and they played the plan superbly. Finally, we received the reward that we deserved,” he also added.

It will be very difficult, even though we trust in ourselves. We think that if we are in our best, we are going to get the trophy. But we have to work hard.
“We have to recover for the final right now. We respect Bengaluru FC a lot, they’ve done a great job in the season and it won’t be easy. But, I believe and trust in my players in the work they are doing. Hopefully we have a good night to win another trophy on Saturday,” he finished with.
