Kannur Warriors play out a thrilling 1-1 draw against Thrissur Magic in Super League Kerala

The Warriors have won all their matches against Thrissur in the Super League Kerala
For the first time in the Super League Kerala history, the Jawahar Municipal Stadium geared up to host the two in-form teams, Kannur Warriors FC and Thrissur Magic FC, where both teams settled to a 1-1 deadlock after a nail-biting encounter.
After a rather uneventful first half, the Warriors broke the deadlock courtesy of Sinan, who deployed a powerful shot to the top corner to provide the hosts with a vital advantage. In the dying minutes, just as Kannur were about to celebrate their victory, Thrissur found their equaliser off Bibin Ajayan to end the game in a draw, with both teams sharing the spoils.
With this draw, Thrissur Magic FC move to the top of the table with nine points, and Kannur Warriors remain at the third position of the Super League Kerala group table, unbeaten so far.
An Uneventful First Half

Throughout the first half, it was Thrissur Magic FC who were seen keeping control of the ball and maintaining a better ball possession and making some good exchanges. The visiting side was initially playing out some risky football in the back, inviting Kannur to press aggressively, leaving some gaps in their defensive unit.
Kannur were somehow unable to get past the structured Thrissur backline and attempted some long rangers, courtesy of Sinan and Sardinero, which Kamaludheen confidently saved. However, as the minutes ticked by, Thrissur started to craft some attacks, which forced Kannur to shift from an offensive approach to a defensive one.
Jiyad inflicted the visitors’ attack as he made some good runs through the flanks to overload the opponent’s backline with perfection and provide some teasing balls into the box. However, Marcus looked lonely and a bit off due to the lack of support in the final third and was unable to connect the ball.
Sinan Opens, Bibin Equalises

The second half immediately saw Thrissur dominating the proceedings as Umashankar attempted a powerful shot at goal, which was somehow saved by Ubaid. In the 57th minute, disaster struck for the visitors as Kevin committed an error in the midfield, passing the ball to the opponent captain Sardinero, who provided a tailored ball to Sinan, who rifled the ball to the top corner to erupt the crowd and raise the decibel level.
Later, both teams made one after the other attacks with Thrissur aiming to find the equaliser and the Warriors eying their second. However, Kamaludheen and Ubaid came to their team’s rescue and stood tall as the last line of defence. From then, Thrissur somehow broke past the defence and found the back of the net during two instances, only to be called offside.
In the final minutes of the stoppage time, Ajsal provided a properly weighted cross to Ivan Markovic, which was miscleared by the Kannur defender. The ball went straight to Bibin Ajayan at the far post, who just had to tap in to score the equaliser, and at full-time, the score ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
