Minerva FC produced a sensational match display against Liverpool FC in the Round of 16 of the MIC Cup 2026. The Indian side stunned the opposition with their fearless attacking approach and clinical finishing. Minerva FC ran a riot against Liverpool FC with six goals, with pure attacking dominance.

The pace from both flanks to the midfield and tempo dictation to defensively maintained positioning all made the game evenly spread out for Minerva FC.

MD. Azam Khan broke the deadlock at the 2nd minute of the game, as he scored a brace today. Then Raj Singh followed the footsteps of Azam Khan, as he scored a hat-trick. A single goal was scored in the 10th minute by Lisham Amarson Singh.

The Indian side started the game the same as they left in the morning against CS BRAVES. Pure attacking intent and physical presence as they bagged the very first goal against Liverpool in the 2nd minute of the game.

MD. Azam Khan was a standout performer for Minerva FC from the first matches, as he scored the most vital goal with a clinical finish with precision.

After scoring, Minerva FC turned up the tempo and began dictating the game with greater possession against Liverpool. The Indian side dominated the match physically and aerially throughout. As a result, they doubled their lead in the 10th minute, with Lisham Amarson Singh producing a solid finish on target.

With counter after counter, Liverpool FC’s defense was shaken, and Minerva FC created another good chance in the 20th minute from the left flank, but the goalkeeper denied it.

They did not stop at just two goals in the first half. Minerva FC maintained zonal marking against their opponents and found another goal in the 24th minute, just before the first-half whistle.

Raj Singh won the ball in midfield on his own, made a driving run forward, and finished like a pure striker as Minerva FC went 3-0 up against Liverpool FC by half-time.

Minerva started the second half as expected, but in a positive manner, as they had possession of the ball for a long time. They earned a penalty as the Liverpool defense was caught off guard and made a rough challenge.

Raj Singh converted from the spot again with a cool, composed, and clinical finish from the penalty. MD. Azam finished off a perfect cut-back timed to perfection and slotted home with class, as he also scored a brace against Liverpool.

Raj Singh scored the last goal that made the day for Minerva FC. They were leading the race with a score line of 6-0.

Both wings were operated smoothly with the defense and midfield. Defensively, also, Minerva FC remained compact and alert in the back line, comfortably handling the pressure with the limited threats from the opponents.

Minerva FC dismantled and outclassed the English giants Liverpool FC in the MIC Cup 2026 Round of 16 with a final score line of 6-0, as they go through into the quarter-finals. Minerva FC will potentially face Real Sociedad in the quarters.
