W1 Sports has had a crucial impact on transforming Mizoram FA landscape over a decade.
In a heartfelt ceremony during the final day of the 40th I-Day tournament, World1 Sports (W1 Sports), a premier sports management and consulting firm, was honoured by the Mizoram Football Association (MFA) for its significant contributions to the development and professionalization of football in Mizoram.
The event, held at R.G. Stadium in Aizawl, was graced by the Honourable Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, the Minister of Sports & Youth Services, Lalnghinglova Hmar, the Honorary Secretary of MFA, Mr. Lalrengpuia, and other key MFA delegates.
W1 Sports has been instrumental in transforming Mizoram’s football landscape. Theircomprehensive approach has reshaped the state’s football ecosystem. W1 Sports’ dedication toyouth development is evident through their structured grassroots initiatives and communityengagement programs, greatly increasing football participation across Mizoram.
Their talent scouting efforts have bridged the gap between local talent and professional football clubs inthe Indian Super League (ISL) and I-League, solidifying Mizoram’s reputation as a powerhouse offootball talent in India. The firm has also played a crucial role in fostering partnerships and attractingsponsorships that have strengthened the football ecosystem in the state.
Their support for licensing has led to the professionalization of Mizoram’s key football clubs and innovative collaborations, such as the partnership between Sony LIV and ZONET to broadcast the Mizoram Premier League, which has significantly increased the visibility of Mizoram football on a national level.
In addition to W1 Sports’ recognition, Varun Achreja, the founder of the firm, was individually acknowledged for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to football in Mizoram.
For over ten years, Achreja has driven the professionalization of football in the state, guiding the MFA in aligning its objectives with national goals and enhancing the governance and effectiveness of football in Mizoram.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Lalduhoma praised W1 Sports’ efforts, highlighting their impact on Mizoram’s football. Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar also emphasized the importance of this collaboration. In his acceptance speech, Varun Achreja expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to the growth of football in Mizoram.
