Mizoram Football Associated recently shared updates on Twitter.

In a shocking development for Mizoram football, the Mizoram Football Association (MFA) has announced the discovery of match-fixing activities in the recently concluded Mizoram Premier League (MPL) season 11.

The MFA, after an extensive investigation supported by local law enforcement, uncovered cases of match manipulation involving a few individuals within the league. This discovery casts a shadow over one of the state’s most popular sporting events, raising concerns about the integrity of the competition.

The MFA’s statement expressed deep regret and disappointment, describing the match-fixing as “a severe breach of our values” that “undermines the integrity of the sport and disrespects the fans who passionately support Mizoram football.”  The copy of the statement is in possession of Khel Now.

In response to these revelations, the MFA has committed to strengthening oversight and implementing measures to prevent future incidents.

“We want to assure all fans, partners, and stakeholders that we are taking every measure to prevent any recurrence of such incidents,” the MFA emphasized. To safeguard the competition’s fairness, the association plans to enhance its “regulatory frameworks and strengthen monitoring mechanisms.”

As the news of the scandal spreads, the MFA is urging the community to support the association in this challenging time.

“We call upon football fans, partners, and the broader football community to stand with us as we address this challenging chapter,” the MFA said. The association acknowledged the potential damage to the league’s reputation and stressed its commitment to moving forward with transparency and integrity.

MFA leadership reaffirmed that the organization remains “steadfast in our commitment to a clean and transparent sport,” and called for a united front among all football stakeholders in Mizoram. “

Your continued support is vital as we work to restore trust and ensure that Mizoram football continues to be a beacon of fair play, passion, and unity,” the MFA statement added.

The Mizoram Premier League has long been celebrated as a cornerstone of sports culture in the region, fostering talent and providing a platform for players to shine. While the current scandal represents a significant setback, the MFA is determined to restore the league’s integrity and set an example of resilience.

“Together, we will build a stronger, more resilient football community,” the MFA concluded, assuring fans that Mizoram football will continue to strive for fair play and uphold the values that make it a source of pride for the state.
