Gurpreet Singh Sandhu conceded a disappointing goal against the Mariners in ISL Final.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant won the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) final in gritty fashion, with a 2-1 victory over Bengaluru FC at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Saturday (12 April, 2025).

The visitors took a lead in the 49th minute through Alberto Rodriguez’s own goal, but goals from Jason Cummings (72’) and Jamie Maclaren (96’) helped the Mariners get the job done in extra time and complete the ISL double.

Here are the player ratings for the 2025 ISL Final:

Vishal Kaith – 8.0

Vishal was charged up and sharp in his goal for the final. Made some stellar saves from close-range shots, including brilliant one to deny Ryan Williams early in the second half. Couldn’t do much for the own goal.

Asish Rai – 6.5

Perhaps a bit too charged up by the occasion. Rai put in a lot of work, winning 10 duels and making four tackles! He was prone to the occasional errors because of shaky positioning, but got better as the game progressed.

Tom Aldred – 8.0

The Scottish defender held together a sturdy backline with his defensive work. He neutralized Edgar Mendes’ threat and came up with some vital challenges, winning 10 duels and making seven clearances.

Alberto Rodriguez – 5.0

Alberto had a pretty decent game apart form the own goal, winning many key duels. But he horribly misread a cross, unluckily putting the ball into the back of his own net.

Subhasish Bose – 7.0

The Mohun Bagan skipper was pretty sturdy, keeping Ryan Williams as quiet as possible. Ruined quite a few Bengaluru moves with his challenges, making seven possession recoveries and four blocks – including a goal line save.

Lalengmawia Ralte – 8.5

The 24-year-old was a really positive energy for his side in midfield. Couldn’t pass the ball around as frequently as he’d like, but worked hard to regain possession – winning 12 duels and making three tackles.

Anirudh Thapa – 4.0

Struggled in the intense midfield battle. Lost more duels (4) than he won (1), lost possession quite a few times and failed to add any creative thrust.

Manvir Singh – 6.0

Manvir troubled Bengaluru with his speedy forward runs at times, but his final product was a bit awry. Had a shot go wide in the second half and couldn’t create much despite troubling Roshan at times.

Jason Cummings – 7.0

Cummings had a quiet first hour, not being able to do much. However, he leapt into life to make the cross that helped to win the penalty before dispatching it with an excellent spot-kick.

Liston Colaco – 4.5

Colaco failed to really impose himself in the game, only making six passes. He made some nice defensive contributions, but failed to create anything noteworthy or test the goalkeeper.

Jamie Maclaren – 7.0

Maclaren won his side the penalty by flicking a ball at Chinglensana’s arm. Apart from that, he struggled to trouble the visitors. His meek attempts in normal time were saved, but he made up for his poor outing with a brilliant finish early in extra time.

Substitutes

Ashique Kuruniyan – 6.0

Kuruniyan added more energy to his side’s attacking thrust with his darting forward runs. His crossing, however, was a mixed-bag. Bust into the box with a nice run in the 89th minute, but his shot was saved.

Sahal Abdul Samad – 6.0

Helped add more pressure to the Bengaluru backline by being a troublesome figure in the final third. Few of his shots were well wide of the mark.

Greg Stewart – 6.5

Stewart added more incisiveness for his side, making a smart forward pass in the box to trigger Maclaren’s goal.

Deepak Tangri – 6.0

Helped add more steel to his side’s midfield in extra time, helping them defend their lead strongly.

Dimitri Petratos – N/R

Made a few nice runs on the counter-attacks.
