Rajasthan United are looking to make their squad stronger.
The 2024-25 Indian football season has hit the ground running with the Durand Cup followed by the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League. I-League outfit Rajasthan United have begun their preparations for the upcoming season with the signing of Spanish left winger Alain Oyarzun on a 1+1 year deal, Khel Now can confirm.
“Alain Oyarzun has been signed by Rajasthan United for I-League 2024-25. The winger has been signed on a 1+1 year deal with the club,” said a source close to the transfer.
The forward is certainly a great addition to the Desert Warriors’ squad and will bolster their already good-looking frontline with the likes of Richardson Denzell and Marin Mudrazija.
About the player
The Spaniard began his career at the youth academy of La Liga side Real Sociedad. He then came through the ranks and joined their reserve team, where he racked up 28 goal contributions in 75 games. He was also a part of their first-team on a few occasions but remained unused.
In 2016, he was loaned out to La Liga 2 side CD Mirandes, where he played 21 games and accumulated one goal and five assists. He then put pen to paper with second division side Real Zaragoza before moving to another second division side CD Numancia. He made 30 appearances for the Rojilos and scored three goals in the process.
In 2020, he was roped in by Cordoba before moving to third division side Real Union the following year. The winger made 102 appearances for the Unai Emery-owned outfit and put together 25 goal contributions in four seasons.
Alain is a left-footed left winger who can also operate as a left-back. He has played all his football in Spain and his move to Rajasthan United will be his first experience out of his home country. He brings a bag full of experience of having played against some of the finest players in the world.
Rajasthan United’s preparations for upcoming season
The Desert Warriors have appointed Uruguayan tactician Walter Caprile as their new head coach. They have also added the services of Saido Berahino, who played over 100 games in the Premier League.
The club have also signed the likes of Pritam Kumar Soraisam, Songpu Singsit and Tejas Krishna to strengthen their domestic fleet.
