SAFF U-20 Championship 2026: Updated points table, most goals after India U-20 vs Pakistan U-20

India have qualified for the knockout stage
The India U-20 football team registered a commanding 3-0 victory against the Pakistan U-20 Football Team in the Group B clash of the SAFF U-20 Championship on the 26th of March 2026, to qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament.
The game started in an attacking tone as Vishal Yadav broke the deadlock in the third minute to provide the Blue Colts with the much-wanted lead. Later, despite constantly knocking on the opponent’s doors, the score remained 1-0 at half-time.
In the second half, the Blue Colts came in with an increased vigor and doubled their advantage in the 64th minute, courtesy of Omang Dodum, who guided the header past the keeper. In the 84th minute,
Prashan Jajo was fouled in the final third, providing India with a penalty, which Omang Dodum seamlessly converted to mark the nail in the coffin and provide the dominating victory for India.

India eliminates Pakistan to storm into the semis

Following this 3-0 victory against Pakistan, the Blue Colts have officially qualified for the knockout phase of the SAFF U20 Championship. Both Bangladesh and India have won their only match played and have three points.
However, a superior goal difference of India (+3) compared to the goal difference of Bangladesh(+2) meant that the Blue Colts are at the top of the table and Bangladesh is second.
Pakistan, with two losses in their two matches, have taken third place and is out of contention for the knockout stage.

Meanwhile, in the Group A table, Nepal are in the driver’s seat, with two wins in two matches. With six points and a goal difference of +2, they are placed at the top of the table.
Sri Lanka, with a win and a loss each, has occupied the second position with three points, while the Maldives and Bhutan, with one point each in two matches, are in the 3rd and 4th position, respectively.
With the winners of each group facing the runners-up of the other group for the semi-finals, the India vs Bangladesh match on the 28th of March will determine the final position of the Blue Colts and who they will face for the semi-final encounter.
