India are defending champions of the SAFF U17 Championship.

The 2024 SAFF U-17 Championship will be its ninth edition. The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) organizes this international football competition for the men’s U-17 national team. It is scheduled to be played from 20 to 30 September 2024 in Thimpu, Bhutan. This whole competition will take place at only one stadium, i.e. Changlimithang Stadium.

India are the defending champions of this tournament and they have won this tournament five times, in the last edition they defeated Bangladesh by 2-0 in the final. Seven teams will compete in this competition and are divided into two groups.

Winners of each group and runners-up of each group will qualify for the knockout rounds and then they will compete for the spot in the final. Under the guidance of Ishfaq Ahmed the Blue Tigers will look to defend their title this time around.
