SAFF Women’s Championship 2024: Full Fixtures, schedule, timing, telecast & live streaming details
India will aim to stop Bangladesh from winning a second successive title.
The SAFF Women’s Championship 2024 is set to commence in Nepal. This will be the seventh edition of the SAFF Women’s Championship, an international football competition organized by the SAFF-South Asian Football Federation for the national women’s teams of its seven member nations.
The tournament is scheduled to be played from 17th to 30th October 2024 in Kathmandu, Nepal. All matches will take place at a single venue – Dasharath Rangasala Stadium.
Bangladesh are the defending champions, having won the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022. The Bengal Tigresses defeated Nepal 3-1 in the final to claim their first SAFF title.
India head into the tournament as one of the favourites, having won the championship a record five times, more than any other team. Although the Blue Tigresses exited the last edition of the tournament in the semifinals, they will aim for their sixth title under the guidance of their newly appointed head coach Santosh Kashyap. This tournament will mark their first competitive appearance with him in charge.
The seven teams to compete in the tournament are India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bhutan. The sides have been divided into two groups – Group A and Group B. The winners and runners-up of each group will qualify for the knockout rounds, where they will compete for a spot in the final.
