Super League Kerala side Kannur Warriors FC rope in Spanish forward Gerard Artigas & defender Sairuat Kima

Khel Now understands that Kannur Warriors FC have strengthened their squad with two new signings, Gerard Artigas and Sairuat Kima, ahead of the new Super League Kerala 2026-27 season after they clinched the 2025-26 season title.
With the two new signings now under the guidance of new head coach Andrey Chernyshov, who previously managed Mohammedan SC, both the players are expected to play key roles for Kannur Warriors in the upcoming season.
The latest additions are part of Kannur Warriors’ efforts to build a competitive squad. Spanish attacking option Gerard Artigas and Sairuat Kima are expected to add quality and depth to the team’s attack.

Artigas is a Spanish forward who has spent most of his career playing for clubs in Spain. He came through the Barcelona youth setup in 2008 and has since gained experience across different teams. The forward featured for IFL side Rajasthan United last season and will now begin a new chapter with Kannur Warriors in the Super League Kerala.
Artigas can offer greater flexibility in attack, create chances and add another reliable option in front of goal, while Kima can strengthen the defensive unit and add experience to the Indian contingent.
The Spaniard can provide width, create opportunities and offer an additional attacking outlet in the final third. His ability to operate across the frontline could give Kannur Warriors more flexibility in attack, while his experience could prove valuable as the team looks to build a competitive squad.
Meanwhile, Sairuat Kima will provide Kannur Warriors with a strong option at centre-back spot. The Mizo defender played for Diamond Harbour FC last season and previously represented India at the U-23 level.
Kima also brings valuable experience from his time in the Indian Super League. He was part of the Bengaluru FC squad that won the ISL title in 2019 and later featured for Mohammedan SC.
He also made one appearance for Jamshedpur FC.
The defender will now look to establish himself at Kannur Warriors and compete for regular minutes in the Super League Kerala. His experience at the highest level of Indian football could provide the team with greater depth and stability at the back.
Kannur Warriors’ summer transfer window so far
Kannur Warriors have also made several additions to their squad, bringing in a host of reinforcements as they prepare to defend their Super League Kerala title. Mohammed Sinan was the first signing announced after the club confirmed the arrival of head coach Andrey Chernyshov.
The club have since added Uma Sankar M, Manoj S, Jobin Joseph, Asier Gomes, Pragyan Gogoi, Faslu Rahman, Varo Alvarez and Sachin Sunil to further strengthen their squad. These additions are expected to give Kannur Warriors greater depth as they look to challenge for another title.
