The inaugural champions of the AIFF Super Cup, Bengaluru FC, will take on Gokulam Kerala on Sunday, November 2nd 2025, at the JLN Stadium in Fatorda, Goa. Kick off is scheduled at 19:30 IST.

Both teams had contrasting fortunes in their opener of the tournament. While Bengaluru FC defeated Mohammedan SC 2-0, Gokulam lost out to Punjab FC by a comprehensive 0-3 scoreline.

With Groups A and B already having confirmed their leading club, Group C is poised in a position where any time could still qualify, depending on other results.

Both teams have missed out on silverware since 2022

Both Bengaluru and Gokulam Kerala have failed to win a major trophy in Indian Football since 2022. While the Malabarians lifted the I-League in the 2021/22 season, Bengaluru won the Durand Cup in 2022. To Gokulam’s hard luck, promotion started in the I-League only the year after their consecutive title wins, and they haven’t been able to win it since.

The Super Cup, however, presents a fresh opportunity to both sides to reclaim their lost glory, and not just that, to qualify for the AFC Champions League 2 and represent India on the continental level. This is enough to prompt the teams to put on a good show when they face each other on Sunday evening.

However, the weather conditions in Goa have been anything but ideal. It has been pouring heavily all week, and the pitches are frequently losing patches of turf and slowing the game down quite a bit. Both teams will have to strategise accordingly and brave the rains to get all three points.
