Kannur Warriors are the reigning Super League Kerala champions.

Indian football calendar is once again buzzing with anticipation as Kerala’s footballing identity, the Super League Kerala, is all set to kick off soon.

Later this year, six teams, over a span of three months, will feature in an intense head-to-head showdown in their hunt for silverware and to be crowned the champions of Kerala.

Following a thrilling 2025 season that saw Kannur Warriors FC lift the Super League Kerala trophy, the stage is set for yet another season, and all six teams will leave no stone unturned. From the signings of proven domestic stars to the arrival of top international talent, the battles in their search for supremacy are underway.

Here’s a look at all the transfers made by the Super League Kerala sides so far ahead of the 2026 season.

Kannur Warriors FC

Incomings: Umashankar M, Nijo Gilbert, Jobin Joseph, Mohammed Shafi, Pragyan Gogoi, Faslu Rahman, Hajmal Sakeer, Craig Mangkhanlian, Prateek Kumar Singh, Varo Alvarez, Sairuat Kima, Muhammed Musharaf, Frederick Ansah Botchway, Gerard Artigas

Extensions: Mohammed Sinan, Manoj S, Sachin S, Asier Gomes, Ernestine Lavsamba

Kannur Warriors FC, the defending champions of the Super League Kerala, have been quite active during the transfer window.

They have retained their top scorer from last season, Mohammed Sinan, along with their defender Manoj S. Additionally, they have also extended the club captain, Ernestine Lavsamba and Asier Gomes, whose goal helped Kannur Warriors defeat Thrissur Magic FC and clinch the silverware.

Coming to the signings, they have brought in Umashankar M, who brings valuable experience from his recent stint with Calicut FC, and joins the squad alongside former Forca Kochi FC forward Nijo Gilbert. Besides them, the club has heavily revamped its domestic lineup by securing Jobin Joseph, Mohammed Shafi, Pragyan Gogoi, Faslu Rahman, Hajmal Sakeer, Craig Mangkhanlian, Prateek Kumar Singh, and Sairuat Kima.

To strengthen their international contingent, they have signed Spanish talents Varo Alvarez and Gerard Artigas, who arrive after a prolific run with Rajasthan United, as well as Ghanaian midfielders Muhammed Musharaf and Frederick Ansah Botchway, a former Ghana Premier League champion with Accra Hearts of Oak

Incomings: Mashoor Shereef, Abith, Harikrishnan M, Paulo Victor, Avinash, Aflahudheen, Muhammed Bilal, Rishad PP, Riswan Shoukath, Prabanj Prasad, Hashir, Abdul Badish, Bibin Ajayan, Grace Adieu Youmou, Arjun Ullas, Daniel Lalhlimpuia, Abdul Samad, Bongani Zungu, Mohamed Salim, Salman Kalliyath

Extensions: Abdul Hakku, Akbar Sidhique, Muhammed Jaseen, Muhammed Risvan

Securing their core foundation for the upcoming campaign, Malappuram FC have handed contract extensions to Abdul Hakku, Akbar Sidhique, Muhammed Jaseen, and Muhammed Risvan.

Experienced centre-back Mashoor Shereef and seasoned forward Daniel Lalhlimpuia are the headline transfers made by Malappuram FC so far. Shereef brings vital defensive stability and top-tier experience from spells with clubs like Chennai City, NorthEast United and Real Kashmir, while Lalhlimpuia adds proven offensive hunger in the senior level with his experience in the ISL.

The club has also made acquisitions of Abith, Harikrishnan M, Avinash, Aflahudheen, Muhammed Bilal, Rishad PP, Riswan Shoukath, Prabanj Prasad, Hashir, Abdul Badish, Bibin Ajayan, Arjun Ullas, Mohamed Salim, Salman Kalliyath and Abdul Samad, most of whom have made their mark in the previous editions of the league.

As far as the international contingent is concerned, they have brought in former Thiruvananthapuram Kombans striker Paulo Victor, who is accompanied by Gabonese defensive midfielder Grace Adieu Youmou.

They have also made a statement signing of Bongani Zungu, who is a Scotish Cup winner with the mighty Rangers FC and a four-time South African winner, one-time African Football League winner with Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

Calicut FC

Calicut have made some good moves in the summer transfer window.

Incomings: Gani Ahammed Nigam, Calwin Thomas, Ameen, Roshal PP, Rijohn Jose, Ajad Saheem, Emil Benny, Girik Khosla.

Extensions: Prashant K, Riyas PT, Fayad Firoz V

Calicut FC, the champions of the Super League Kerala 2024, have made a few additions to their squad. While they have retained their captain Prashant and Riyas PT and Fayad Firoz, who had an impressive stint last season, they have brought in the services of a few other names too.

Gani Ahammed Nigam, who was a part of Calicut’s title-winning campaign, now returns to the club. Besides Gani, they have signed Calwin Thomas, the winner of the KFA Best U-20 Player last season, Ameen and Rijohn Jose from Forca Kochi FC, and Ajad Saheem, a Calcutta Premier League winner with East Bengal in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons and a former NorthEast United, Jamshedpur FC and Gokulam FC midfielder Emil Benny. They have also roped in the experienced I-League winner Girik Khosla from Diamond Harbour FC.

Forca Kochi FC

Forca Kochi are getting things started in the summer window.

Incomings: Debjit Majumder, Renan Araujo

Extensions: Jishnu P

Forca Kochi is one side that hasn’t made any official announcement regarding their players to date apart from the contract extension of midfielder Jishnu P. However, Khel Now understands that the former runners-up side have completed the signing of the experienced goalkeeper Debjit Majumder, a former ISL and two-time I-League winner in their goalkeeping unit.

Additionally, they have also roped in the Brazilian defender Renan Araujo, who featured for the Thiruvananthapuram Kombans in the Super League Kerala 2025. Even though not officially announced by the club, it is expected to be done in the upcoming days.

Even though there have been a good number of departures from the Kombans, there is no concrete information regarding their signings and an announcement is expected from the side of the club soon.

Thrissur Magic FC

The current runners-up of the Super League Kerala, Thrissur Magic FC, are also yet to make an official announcement regarding their recruits for the upcoming season.

However, they have confirmed the arrival of David Caneda as their new head coach for the upcoming season and the announcement regarding signings is expected soon.
