Super League Kerala 2026: Malappuram FC thrash Thrissur Magic FC 4-0 at home

Malappuram FC find their first win of Super League Kerala 2026

Malappuram FC earned a dominating 4-0 victory against Thrissur Magic FC on the 17th October 2026 at the Payyanad Stadium, Manjeri, as part of the second game of Round 4 fixtures of the Super League Kerala 2026.

A brace from Rashid CK and a goal each from Muhamed Mahdi and Amadou Soukouna ensured that Forca Kochi FC walked home with all three points and won their first game of the Super League Kerala 2026 season.

Following this victory, Malappuram FC have climbed to the fourth position with 5 points, while Thrissur Magic FC remain at the bottom of the table. Here is a detailed report of the Super League Kerala match between Malappuram FC and Thrissur Magic FC.

Deadlock not yet broken

In the early minutes of the game, Malappuram created pressure through early corners and free-kicks, but Thrissur’s defence successfully contained captain Amadou Soukouna, restricting the hosts’ attacks outside the penalty box.

In the 18th minute, Thrissur Magic FC suffered an early blow when defender Vladimir Castro received a yellow card for a foul on Muhammed Mehdi and had to leave the field injured shortly after. Thrissur created their first real chance in the 28th minute off a swift right-wing move by Jiyad, but a miscommunication in the box wasted the opportunity.

Malappuram came close to breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute when Muhammed Salim unleashed a long-range strike off a cleared corner, forcing a save from Thrissur goalkeeper Kamaludheen. However, no Malappuram player was in position to pounce on the rebound. The first half ended 0-0.

10-man Malappuram strike 4 goals

The match shifted three minutes into the second half when Malappuram FC were reduced to ten men. Defender Abdul Samad, who came in as a substitute, received his second yellow card and was sent off. To maintain defensive stability, Malappuram made a quick tactical adjustment, withdrawing forward Sajeesh to bring on defender Mashoor Shereef.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Malappuram struck first in the 65th minute. A dangerous corner delivered by Elforsy caused chaos inside the Thrissur penalty box, allowing Rashid CK to capitalise at the right moment and poke the ball home to make it 1-0.

Eight minutes later, in the 73rd minute, Elforsy initiated another sharp attack, setting up Rashid CK to double his tally and extend Malappuram’s lead to 2-0.

Riding on high confidence, Malappuram put the game out of reach just three minutes later when Muhammed Mehdi’s strike found the back of the net for their third goal.

Deep into stoppage time, skipper Amadou Soukouna added the final touch, converting an assist from Elforsy to seal a comprehensive 4-0 victory in front of a roaring Malappuram crowd.

With this win, Malappuram FC have finally climbed to the top four, overthrowing Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC, with 5 points in hand. Thrissur Magic FC, on the other hand, remain at the bottom, and things are not looking good for the Super League Kerala 2025 runners-up as far as the qualification scenario is concerned.
