The 9th round of the Super League Kerala brought a pulsating showdown today at the Thiruvananthapuram home ground, where Forca Kochi FC clinched a critical victory over Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC in a hard-fought match, finishing with a scoreline of 1-3 in favor of Forca Kochi.
The game opened with intensity from both sides, and Forca Kochi seized an early advantage when Dorielton Gomes netted the first goal in the 8th minute, putting the visitors ahead and putting the Kombans on the back foot. The pressure was high on both ends, with both teams demonstrating relentless energy on the field as they sought to control the pace of the game.
Thiruvananthapuram Kombans responded with determination, adjusting their field positions and pressing forward with intent. Their persistence paid off after 15 minutes, as they managed to regroup and strengthen their play, ultimately breaking through Forca Kochi’s defense with an equalizer in the second half, much to the delight of the home fans.
However, the match’s intensity only increased in the final minutes. In the 87th minute, Forca Kochi’s Rodriguez Ayazo found the back of the net, reclaiming the lead and sending the away supporters into a frenzy. Then, in the closing moments of the game, Dorielton returned to action, scoring Forca Kochi’s third goal in extra time, sealing the win for his team.
When the final whistle blew, Forca Kochi had not only won the match but also gained a valuable 3 points, boosting their position in the Super League Kerala standings. This win marks a critical moment in Forca Kochi’s season, as they continue to make strides toward the league title.
