Thrissur Magic edge past Forca Kochi in the stoppage time in Super League Kerala

Forca Kochi have lost all four matches in Super League Kerala.

Thrissur Magic FC prevailed over Thrissur Magic FC 1-0 in the final matchday of the fifth round fixtures of the Super League 2025. With this win, Thrissur have climbed to the top of the table while Forca Kochi have solidified their position at the bottom of the table and are on the verge of elimination.

After 90 minutes dominated by a large number of missed opportunities, Thrissur finally broke the deadlock off Afsal, who combined with Bibin Ajayan to punish a defensive error by Forca Kochi FC to beat the keeper and score the winner for the visitors in Super Legue Kerala.

A First-Half Full of Missed Chances

The Maharajas Stadium saw an entirely different Forca Kochi, as they attacked aggressively from the very first whistle. The hosts pressed with intent and piled on the pressure by initiating their attacks from left, right and centre. Forca Kochi’s initial attacks were inflicted by the boots of Douglas Tardin and Sajeesh, and they managed to keep Thrissur silent for a significant time.

Later, as the game progressed, the vigour of the Forca Cruz gradually diminished and Thrissur were slowly starting to get a grip of the game. Lenny Rodriguez stood as the central figure for the visitors as he did really well in the midfield, coupled with attempting his luck at the goal from distance.

However, despite the continuous attacks from both sides, the U23 keepers, Murshid and Kamaludheen, were alert between the sticks and kept the deadlock safe and at half time, the score was nil-nil.

Afsal seals the deal in the stoppage time

In the second half, the same story continued, as despite the continuous attacks, both teams were unable to execute anything in the final third and lacked finishing. Though the persistent attacks continued, the keepers were worth every penny and denied all the attempts made by their opponents.

In the 90th minute, Thrissur made one final substitution, bringing in Mohammed Afsal into the game. Just when he entered the pitch, Bibin Ajayan capitalised on a defensive error and provided a beautiful through ball to the substitute, who put the ball past the keeper to breach the net and win the match for Thrissur.

Forca Kochi still remain at the bottom of the table with four losses in four matches, and Thrissur progresses to the top of the table with nine points.

Round 5 Fixtures for Forca Kochi FC and Thrissur Magic FC

Forca Kochi will face one of the only unbeaten sides, Malappuram FC, on the 4th of November at home, and Thrissur Magic will lock horns against Kannur Warriors on the 7th of November at the Jawahar Municipal Stadium, for the first time in the history of Super League Kerala.
