Kannur Warriors secured a 2-1 victory against Forca Kochi FC on the 9th of October, 2026, at the Jawahar Municipal Stadium in the first game of the Round 3 fixtures of Super League Kerala 2026.
In the first half, after multiple attacking exchanges between both sides, it was Kannur Warriors who found the opener of the game, courtesy of Stamenkovic, who headed in a perfectly tailored cross from Nijo Gilbert.
Kannur yet again drew blood early in the second half, this time off Faslu Rahman, from yet again a teasing cross from Nijo Gilbert. However, the two-goal advantage did not last long, as Forca Kochi struck back within just two minutes, thanks to Rahul Raju, who tapped in the ball after being in the right place to connect with a cross from Harshal Rahman.
In the 87th minute of the game, Nithin Madhu was given a red card following a reaction to a Kannur player after a challenge, and ten-man Forca Kochi were too late to snatch the advantage from Kannur Warriors and at full-time, Kannur Warriors secured a 2-1 victory at their home.
Following this victory, Kannur Warriors have climbed to the top of the table, and Forca Kochi FC have dropped one position to third.
