It was a tight contest in the Super League Kerala game.

The final match of round 3 in Super League Kerala saw Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC take on Kannur Warriors FC at the iconic Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium. With their passionate home supporters behind them, Kombans were eager to register their second win on home turf. Having already tasted victory at the same venue, they were determined to deliver another strong performance.

On the other side, Kannur Warriors FC came into the match equally motivated, knowing that a win would secure their spot at the top of the points table. The atmosphere in the state capital was electric, with football enthusiasts from across Kerala gathering to witness this highly anticipated clash.

Kannur Warriors FC began the match with an intense, high-pressing game, putting immediate pressure on Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC. The visiting team pushed forward relentlessly, not allowing the home side any breathing room. Kombans, led by captain Patrick Motta, struggled to gain control of the ball in the early stages as Kannur dominated possession and pressed high up the field.

As the half progressed, Kombans began to find their footing in the middle of the park, with Motta and his teammates gradually gaining momentum. The match quickly became aggressive, with both sides battling for control. The heightened intensity led to several fouls, and the referee was forced to issue bookings to keep the game in check.

Despite the aggressive nature of the match, Kombans managed to carve out a few opportunities in Kannur’s half. However, goalkeeper Ajmal stood tall for Kannur Warriors FC, making critical saves to deny the home team from breaking the deadlock.

Just before the half-time whistle, a turning point occurred when Kombans’ captain Patrick Motta received his second yellow card, resulting in a red. Motta’s dismissal left Thiruvananthapuram with ten men for the remainder of the game. The first half ended with neither side able to find the back of the net, leaving the score at 0-0.

With Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC reduced to ten men, Kannur Warriors FC’s manager, Manuel Muriez, saw an opportunity to exploit the numerical advantage and pushed his team forward aggressively in the second half. Kannur dominated possession, with forward Asier Gomes leading their attack and continuously testing the Kombans’ defense.

The breakthrough for Kannur came in the 57th minute when Lavsamba unleashed a powerful screamer from outside the box, giving his team a much-deserved lead. The goal sent the traveling Kannur supporters into celebration, as their team appeared to be in control of the match.

However, the goal sparked a resurgence in the Kombans FC players, and despite being a man down, they refused to back down. Thiruvananthapuram pushed hard for an equalizer, with their fans cheering them on in full voice. Their persistence paid off in the 85th minute when Ganesan found the back of the net, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

The final minutes saw both teams battling intensely to find a winning goal, but despite their best efforts, neither side could break the deadlock again. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving both teams to share the points. Notably, this result meant that all games in the third round of Super League Kerala ended in draws.
