Brazil delegation set to inspect Kolkata venues and facilities ahead of India friendly
CBF officials will assess hotels, Salt Lake Stadium and training facilities before Brazil’s October 3 clash against India.
Preparations for the highly anticipated India vs Brazil friendly are entering a crucial phase, with officials from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) set to visit Kolkata for a detailed inspection of the arrangements.
Brazil will take on Indian football team at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) on October 3. Ahead of the marquee fixture, the Brazilian delegation will assess the facilities and infrastructure that will be used by the team during its stay in the city.
The seven-member technical team was expected to arrive in Kolkata around midnight on Thursday and will inspect hotels, the match venue, training facilities and security arrangements during its visit.

The CBF team will begin its inspection by visiting two five-star hotels near Kolkata airport on Thursday morning. The delegation will assess the available facilities before the Selecao finalises its base for the visit.
The team is expected to travel with a sizeable contingent for the friendly. Reports suggest that around 96 members could be part of the travelling party.
Later in the day, the delegation is expected to head to the Salt Lake Stadium, the venue for the October 3 clash.
The officials will assess the stadium infrastructure, security arrangements and other logistical requirements. They will also take a close look at the playing surface, which will be one of the key aspects of the inspection.
CBF officials to assess training facilities
The inspection will not be limited to the match venue.
The delegation is also expected to assess the training facilities that will be used by Carlo Ancelotti and his players during their stay in Kolkata.
The Selecao are scheduled to arrive in the city on September 30 after playing a match in Australia. The team is then expected to train in Kolkata on October 1 and 2 before taking on India on October 3.
The CBF’s inspection will therefore help determine whether the proposed hotels and training facilities are suitable for the squad.
Brazil expected to bring star-studded squad to Kolkata

The friendly has generated considerable excitement in India because of the quality of the Brazilian team expected to travel.
The Selecao are expected to bring their full squad, barring any injuries. Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Endrick are among the names expected to feature, while head coach Carlo Ancelotti is also expected to be in charge.
“Brazil will come with their full squad (unless anyone gets injured). As things stand, that is the information we have. Carlo Ancelotti is also expected to come,” former India goalkeeper and current national football team director, Subrata Paul was quoted as saying by The Telegraph
The CBF’s technical inspection is another indication of the seriousness with which Brazil are approaching the fixture.
Ticket prices likely to be discussed
Ticketing arrangements will also be part of the discussions surrounding the match.
A meeting is expected to take place on Thursday to discuss ticket prices and other arrangements. However, the final prices could be announced only after the Brazilian delegation completes its inspection and submits its report.
Some reports have suggested that tickets could be priced between ₹2,500 and ₹25,000, although these figures have not been officially confirmed.
India withdraw from FIFA ASEAN Cup
India’s decision to withdraw from the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup was also influenced by the Brazil fixture.
The Blue Tigers were initially invited as a guest team and were drawn alongside Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore in Division 1, Group A.

However, the tournament schedule created a direct conflict with India’s October 3 meeting against Brazil. The FIFA ASEAN Cup final was also scheduled for the same day.
AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey subsequently confirmed that India would prioritise the Brazil friendly. He also pointed to FIFA’s limit of four matches during the international window as another factor behind the decision.
With India now focused on the Brazil fixture, attention has shifted towards ensuring that the historic encounter in Kolkata is staged smoothly.
