Indian Football Teams' Calendar 2026: Important dates, full schedule & more

A lot of footballing action remains in 2026

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) recently unveiled an intense 2026-27 season schedule for the Indian men’s and women’s national football teams across all age groups. Following the release, the schedule highlights crucial international tournaments and FIFA windows that the teams will participate in to win.

A busy schedule signals an important period for Indian football to continue its growth and competitiveness on the global stage.

Let’s take a look at the teams who will be in action:

Senior Men’s Indian Football Team

The Blues Tigers have already played the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier game against Hong Kong, winning it with a scoreline of 2-1. Along with this, India have also played the Unity Cup 2026 and a series of friendlies against Tajikistan in 2026 so far.

However, it is not all over yet. The Blue Tigers are scheduled to participate in the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 in September followed by a friendly tour to New Zealand in November, where they play the Kiwis in two friendly matches.

The question is whether the senior team will play the SAFF Championship 2026 or the U-23 will be fielded as the senior team will be playing New Zealand during the same window in November 2026.

Senior Women’s Indian Football Team

The Blues Tigresses have already been action in 2026 for multiple matches in various tournaments and friendlies. The Blue Tigresses played the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 in March followed by the FIFA Women’s Series in Kenya where they won the third place.

Recently, the women’s team lifted the SAFF Women’s Championship 2026, going undefeated in the tournament. As of now the women’s team are not scheduled to play any more matches in this calendar year, however it can change if there are further matches organized going forward.

The U-17 Indian men’s team have already played a major of their games in 2026, from the AFC U-17 Asian Cup to multiple friendlies.

As of now they are not scheduled to play anything further in the year but friendlies could be a part of their calendar going ahead.

India U-20 Women’s Football Team

The India U-20 Women’s Football Team have already played a couple of friendlies and the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026. However, as of now there is nothing scheduled further in the year but it is expected that they will play in the FIFA window.

U-20 Men’s Indian Football Team

The India U-20 men’s football team have only featured in the SAFF U-20 Championship 2026 so far. However, they are scheduled to play in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers and before that are scheduled to play a couple of friendlies as well.

• August 3: India U-20 vs Singapore U-20, Centre for Sports Excellence, Bengaluru.
• August 6: India U-20 vs Singapore U-20, Centre for Sports Excellence, Bengaluru.
• 31 August 2026: India vs Syria (Do’stlik Stadium, Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
• 3 September 2026: Uzbekistan vs India (Do’stlik Stadium, Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
• 6 September 2026: India vs Bangladesh (Do’stlik Stadium, Tashkent, Uzbekistan)

Results so far in 2026:

• India 3-0 Pakistan
• Bangladesh 1-1 India
• India 5-0 Bhutan
• Bangladesh 0-0 India (4-3 on penalties)

U-17 Women’s Indian Football Team

India, for the first time ever, sealed qualification for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup and had a good campaign to remember. The U-17 women’s team saw a lot of action already in this year, from playing at the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup to SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship, they have also played multiple friendlies as well.

Under the leadership of Pamela Conti, India U-17 women’s team lifted the SAFF U-20 Championship and had a historic AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup campaign as they qualified and played in the knockout stage of the tournament.

Moving ahead the U-17 women’s team will be playing the qualifiers for the next AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup and some friendlies are expected to be scheduled later.
