Hamza Choudhury likely to make his debut for Bangladesh against India

Premier League midfielder Hamza Choudhury is potentially on the verge of making his international debut for Bangladesh in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 3. Interestingly, the Leicester City FC midfielder could be a playing member for Bangladesh in their highly anticipated opening clash against India.
Despite being born and raised in Loughborough, England, Choudhry has Bangladeshi ancestry because of his grandparents, making him eligible to represent the South Asian nation. The midfielder completed key formalities earlier this year, including acquiring his Bangladeshi passport in August.
He also reportedly secured an NOC from the English FA in September, that was also submitted to FIFA for a smooth processing.

The smooth processing of his applications paves the way for the talented midfielder to switch his allegiance from England. Choudhury, who has represented England at the U-21 level will now be able to play for Bengal Tigers and make his international bow. His inclusion will bolster the Bengal Tigers’ midfield in a challenging group featuring Singapore, Hong Kong and India.
The 27-year-old has had a notable professional career. He will be a star name for the Bengal Tigers and will surely help popularize the sport in the country. After rising through the ranks at Leicester City, Choudhury is a mainstay in Leicester City’s first team since 2015. With 54 appearances in the Premier League, and loan spells at notable English clubs like Watford and Burton Albion, Choudhury brings with him a wealth of experience.
