India vs Bangladesh: Finishing woes, Vishal Kaith's performance & other talking points

The Blue Tigers lacked the clinical finishing against the Bengal Tigers.
After a motivating win against Maldives, India played out a goalless draw against Bangladesh in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The Blue Tigers were just not able to get past their neighbours despite creating multiple chances.
Bangladesh were certainly the better team as they created more chances and India should consider themselves lucky for not conceding a goal. After a ‘not so convincing’ performance in the first half, India came out all guns blazing in the second half. They looked more determined and raring to score a goal.
Tonight’s result means both sides have shared a point each. India are placed first and are level on points Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Singapore. Let us take a look at the talking points from the game.
Vishal Kaith’s mistakes

Vishal Kaith was awful against Bangladesh tonight. He just couldn’t justify the type of the performances that he has put in the ISL. Kaith made three direct mistakes that could’ve led to a goal for the opponents.
He misplaced a few passes and gave away the ball at crucial positions and put his teammates into danger. Kaith needs to level up if he wants to remain India’s first choice keeper.

Subhasish’s goal line clearance

Subhasish Bose came to India’s rescue with a clutch clearance in the first half and denied Bangladesh an opening. Bose came in and neutralised a lot of defensive blunders caused by his teammates.
He was an important figure at the left-back position for India and made sure no one gets the better of him. He was a rock for the Blue Tigers and apart from a couple of lapses, he was probably India’s best player.
India’s undefeated run against Bangladesh continues
Although the Blue Tigers failed to get a win on the board, they will take motivation from the fact that their unbeaten run against Bangladesh continues. Manolo Marquez’s men have never lost a game against Bangladesh.
They have notched up six draws and three wins in their last nine games against the Bengal Tigers. However, the fact that they have played out five draws in their last games against Bangladesh will surely be a matter of concern.
