India vs Oman: All time Head to head record

India and Oman will face off in the CAFA Nations Cup third-place match.

A new chapter is set to unfold in the rivalry between Indian Football Team and Oman. The two sides will lock horns in the third-place match in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025. After finishing the group stage campaign as runners-up in their respective groups, the two sides will look for the final flourish on September 8.

In recent times, these two teams have produced some intriguing fixtures, especially in high-stakes encounters. The two teams will be meeting in a competitive fixture after four years. Their last meeting was in 2021, which ended in a stalemate.

Oman ahead in the record against India

Oman dominate the record books against the Blue Tigers. The two sides have faced off on ten occasions in the past.

Of the ten meetings, six have been in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Oman have a tremendous record against India in big matches like the World Cup Qualifiers. They have won five of those qualifier matches, whereas one ended in a draw. The Blue Tigers have not been able to taste victory against Oman in consequential encounters.

In recent times, the closest India have come to scraping a victory against Oman was in 2019. In what was a World Cup Qualifier, the Blue Tigers led the match till the 81st minute, but Mundhir Al Alawi’s brace in the last ten minutes shattered their hopes.

However, the Blue Tigers would like to look back at the last match against Oman, which ended in a 1-1 draw. This third-place match would be an opportunity for the Blue Tigers to improve their record, especially in matches where the results have an impact.

It will be a massive feat for the Blue Tigers if they beat Oman. That would be the second win in quick succession against sides which have historically dominated then.
