A few players impressed in the recently concluded ISL games while there is room for improvement for others.

After two consecutive weeks of publishing the report on the 26 players who represented the Indian football team in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, Khel Now has compiled a comprehensive analysis of those players’ performances during the last two weeks of play. This final report is meticulously prepared, taking into account their performances after every match.

With the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers fast approaching, this analysis justifies the players’ worth in the team. The latest report highlights improvements in some players’ performances while others have lost momentum. Let’s delve into their competition in the past two weeks.

The performances of the 26 players in the Gameweek 17 & 18 of ISL.

Amrinder Singh –  7.5

Amrinder delivered a stronger performance in the match against East Bengal compared to the one against Chennaiyin FC, which they lost 2-1. While he made crucial saves in the first match, his momentum lacked intensity in the second match.

Vishal Kaith – 7.5

Mohun Bagan had only one match over the past two weeks. Vishal exhibited steadfastness at the goalpost, successfully thwarting the opposition’s attacks. His pivotal save within the penalty area was the highlight of his performance.

Subhasish Bose – 7.5

Subhasish demonstrated consistent performance during the match against Jamshedpur FC. He effectively executed four crucial tackles and made five clearances, while emerging victorious in every ground duel he participated in.

Manvir Singh – 7.5

Manvir demonstrated a significantly enhanced performance during the recent match against Jamshedpur. He contributed by providing key assists that were instrumental in securing a victory for his team. His exceptional first touches at pivotal moments were a delight to witness.

Deepak Tangri – 7.5

Deepak Tangri displayed exceptional accuracy in his passes and emerged victorious in the majority of his ground duels during the match against Jamshedpur. Additionally, he demonstrated his proficiency at the back, making two crucial clearances and executing three important tackles.

Vikram Partap Singh – 7

In the past two weeks, in the three matches played, Vikram sustained his performance, despite encountering a slight lack of momentum in the second match against Punjab. However, he exhibited improvement in the subsequent match against Jamshedpur. Additionally, he successfully scored a goal and provided an assist in the course of these three games.

Sunil Chhetri – 7

Sunil Chhetri’s performance in the recent match against Kerala Blasters was below par. His passing accuracy stood at 50%, and he experienced difficulty maintaining possession during crucial stages of the game.

Naorem Mahesh Singh –  7

Naorem participated in all three matches last week. While he seemed slightly out of form during the match against Chennaiyin FC, he demonstrated improvement in his performance in the subsequent two matches. Displaying commendable accuracy in his passes, he rarely relinquished possession.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 7

Gurpreet performed admirably in the match against Kerala Blasters. He consistently took charge whenever there was a threat from the opponent, achieving a 100% save rate and concluding the match without conceding a goal.

Lallianzuala Chhangte –  7

Chhangte has scored two goals in the last three matches and appeared to be in peak form during the match against Jamshedpur FC. He managed to convert two out of the four shots on target he took.

Suresh Singh Wangjam –  7

The midfielder reentered the team after being absent for one match. He appeared to be in excellent condition and delivered a strong performance. Suresh offered substantial assistance to his teammates in both the midfield and back line, contributing to their success in securing a victory.

Akash Mishra – 6.5

The left-back was lacking momentum in the match against Jamshedpur. Despite displaying decent passing accuracy, he lost possession fifteen times and struggled in duels and dribbling attempts.

Lalchungnunga – 6.5

Lalchungnunga participated in all three matches during the last two weeks of play, making a commendable contribution to the team. Notably, he was positioned as a right-back for the first time in the league and demonstrated effective performance, displaying consistent tackles and clearances.

Mehtab Singh – 6.5

Mehtab’s performance in the match against Jamshedpur FC surpassed his displays in the matches against Punjab and Goa. He delivered commendable clearances in all the games, but his interception skills shone particularly in the last game.

Nikhil Poojary –  6.5

Nikhil delivered an enhanced performance in the match against Kerala. He demonstrated a preference for long passes on occasions, yet excelled in executing short passes and contributed significantly to the defensive line with three clearances.

Liston Colaco – 6

In their most recent match against Jamshedpur, Liston made a return to the team. The midfielder attempted a shot on target and delivered a cross. However, his performance in the second half lacked the necessary intent to pose a greater threat.

Brandon Fernandes –  5.5

Brandon only played for 29 minutes, which may not have been sufficient to fully showcase his abilities. However, during this time, he delivered four crosses and created a scoring opportunity for the team.
