Indian Football Team Player Watch: Anwar, Chhangte & Manvir impress; Gurpreet, Irfan need to improve

Many Indian football team players played some good football this match week in ISL.
Khel Now is back with another analysis of the Indian football team players. This time the names of 25 players who represented the nation in the match against Malaysia in an international friendly have been listed again.
This report has been prepared based on the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Game Week 10 to keep the players’ performance updated while keeping an eye on the upcoming international assignments.
The performances of the 23 players till the Game week 10 of ISL.
Amrinder Singh – 7
Amrinder had a decent game but conceded two silly goals. He made three saves, two from inside the box. He also came off his line to make a couple of clearances.
Aakash Sangwan – 7
Aakash put up another impactful performance at the left-back position for FC Goa. He made five clearances, two tackles and one interception while winning all of his aerial duels.
Anwar Ali – 8
Anwar Ali had a phenomenal outing this week. He stood tall at the back and made nine clearances, one block and interception each to guide East Bengal to their first win of the season.
Asish Rai – 7
Asish came one in the second half and gave a good account of himself in Mohun Bagan’s triumph over Chennaiyin FC. He made four tackles and two clearances and also executed a couple of key passes while winning the majority of his ground duels.
Brandon Fernandes – 7
Brandon maintained a passing accuracy of 79% and executed a key pass as well. He won the ball at crucial junctures of the game and recorded two tackles and interceptions each in the process.
Chinglensana Singh Konsham – 6
Sana did not put up a good performance at the back as Bengaluru FC conceded four goals against Odisha FC last week. He lost the ball 12 times while managing to pull off two clearances and one tackle.
Edmund Lalrindika – NA
Farukh Chaudhary – 6.5
Farukh recorded an average performance for Chennaiyin FC this week. He maintained a passing accuracy of just 58% while losing the ball 12 times. However, he did contribute at the back and made five tackles and one clearance.
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 5
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu seems to have lost his form. After not conceding a single goal in the first five games, Sandhu has gone on to concede 11 goals in the last five games, including four goals in the last game against Odisha FC.
Jeakson Singh Thounaojam – 7
Jeakson had a quiet day for East Bengal in their first win of the campaign. He completed five out of eight passes, including a key pass. However, he did create a big chance for his side while recording a clearance as well.
Lalengmawia – 6.5
Apuia maintained a passing precision of 82% and completed 4/6 of his attempted long balls. But, he lost the ball 11 times and also committed a foul.
Lallianzuala Chhangte – 8
Chhangte had an eventful week. The Mumbai City FC skipper created the winning goal with an assist and also recorded a shot on target. He completed 2/2 dribbles and missed a big chance as well. He executed 27/33 of his passes, including five key passes.
Liston Colaco – 7
Liston had a shot on target while one of his shots was blocked. He won the majority of his ground duels and also won two fouls while making a crucial interception and tackle each.
Manvir Singh – 7.5
Manvir was a livewire on the right flank for Bagan. He has a shot on target and also hit the woodwork once. Singh executed four key passes to perfection and won four fouls as well. He won the majority of aerial and ground duels.
Mehtab Singh – 8
Mehtab Singh was the best performer for Mumbai City FC this week. He scored the winning goal for his side and helped them get back to winning ways. Singh also made five clearances and completed 85% of his passes.
Rahul Bheke – 6.5
Rahul Bheke had a week to forget. He only managed to record a single clearance and could not stop Odisha FC from scoring four goals past his side.
Roshan Singh Naorem – 7
Roshan recorded a good performance but in a losing cause. He recorded an assist while making three interceptions, two tackles and one clearance and block each. He executed two key passes and also created a big chance.
Subhasish Bose – 7
Bose made three tackles, two clearances and one interception and helped Mohun Bagan keep yet another clean sheet. But, he conceded a silly yellow card and will be suspended for the next game.
Suresh Singh Wangjam – 6.5
Suresh couldn’t do much for his side and was therefore taken off at half-time. He made just one interception and maintained a passing accuracy of 78%.
Vishal Kaith – 7
Vishal Kaith made three saves, including one from inside the box. He maintained a handsome passing accuracy of 88% and also executed a clearance.
Thoiba Singh – 7
Thoiba was involved in the action very often in the game against Bengaluru FC. He made three tackles, two blocks and one clearance and interception each while completing 84% of his passes.
Hmingthanmawia Ralte – 7.5
Valpuia recorded one of his best ISL performances in this game. He made bombing runs forward and also came back to defend in time. He made three tackles, two clearances and blocks each while winning the majority of his duels. The defender completed 42/49 passes.
Sandesh Jhingan – 7.5
Jhingan stood tall like a wall in the heart of FC Goa’s backline and took them over the line with a strong defensive performance. He made nine clearances and three blocks while maintaining a decent passing accuracy.
Jithin MS – 6.5
Jithin couldn’t do much as NorthEast United suffered a defeat against East Bengal. However, he lost the ball possession 16 times and completed just 54% of his passes.
Vibin Mohanan – 7
Vibin completed 91% of his passes and was solid in the middle of the park for the Kerala Blasters. He also had a shot on target and won a lot of fuel. The youngster made two interceptions, one block and one clearance each.
Irfan Yadwad – 6
Irfan Yadwad had an off day at the office and couldn’t make much of a difference. He had one shot on target but lost the ball 18 times. He conceded and won three fouls each while making a couple of clearances.
