Indian Football Team Player Watch: Sunil Chhetri is back; Irfan Yadwad needs to step up

An impressive week for Indian players as they balled out for their respective clubs this week in ISL.

Khel Now is back with another analysis of the Indian football team players. This time the names of 25 players who represent the nation in the upcoming friendly against Maldives and 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers against Bangladesh

This report has been prepared based on the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Game Week 25 to keep the players’ performance updated while keeping an eye on the upcoming international assignments.

The performances of the 23 players till the Game week 25 of ISL.

Amrinder Singh – 7.5

Amrinder made five saves, including two saves from inside the box. He also recorded one punch out and four high claims along with one successful runout.

Anwar Ali – 7

Anwar was taken off after 32 minutes on the pitch. During that time he made one block and one clearance off the line.

Asish Rai – NA

Ashique Kuruniyan – NA

Ayush Dev Chhetri – 7.5

Ayush put in a good shift this week. He completed 89% of his passes while executing one key pass. Chhetri created one big chance and recorded three tackles.

Boris Singh Thangjam – 7

Boris executed 90% of his passes to perfection, including one key pass. He hit the woodwork once and had one shot blocked.

Brandon Fernandes – 7

Brandon executed five key passes and created the most number of chances while maintaining  passing precision of 73%. He executed ten passes into the final third and had three touches in the opposition box.

Brison Fernandes – NA 

Chinglensana Singh Konsham – 6.5

Sana made two clearances along with a mistake that led to a shot. He also had a shot on target and maintained a passing accuracy of 88%.

Farukh Chaudhary – NA

Hmingthanmawia Ralte – 6.5

He maintained a passing precision of 85% and won 2/5 ground duels.

Jeakson Singh Thounaojam – 6.5

He made five clearances and one interception while completing 5/7 passes.

Lallianzuala Chhangte – 7

He hit the woodwork once and completed 88% of his passes. Chhangte also recorded one interception.

Mahesh Singh Naorem – 7

Mahesh executed three key passes and won 8/12 ground duels. The midfielder completed 3/3 dribbles and won three fouls in the process.

Roshan Singh Naorem – 7

Roshan made two tackles and clearances each. He executed two key passes and also recorded a shot on target while winning the majority of his ground duels.

Sunil Chhetri – 7.5

Chhetri recorded two shots on target and scored one goal. He also executed one key pass while maintaining a passing accuracy of 84% while making three clearances and one tackle.

Suresh Singh Wangjam – 7

He completed 87% of his passes and made two clearances. He also completed 1/1 dribble.

Vishal Kaith – NA

Sandesh Jhingan – 7

Jhingan made two clearances and won 3/3 ground duels. He completed 79% of his passes.

Irfan Yadwad – 6.5

He missed one big chance and had two shots off target. Yadwad executed one key pass and tackle each.
