The Indian Football Team have been dealt a major blow at the CAFA Nations Cup Campaign as defender Sandesh Jhingan has been ruled out of the tournament as he suffered a jaw fracture against Iran at the Hisor Central Stadium in Tajikistan.

As per the report in The Times of India, Sandesh Jhingan sustained the injury during the first half of the game against Iran but continued to play on until the final whistle. The subsequent scans at the hospital had revealed a jaw fracture to the defender, thereby ruling him out of the tournament.

Massive Blow for Khalid Jamil

The journey has been a mix of highs and lows so far for India. The Blue Tigers began with a confident 2-1 win against Tajikistan, but were brought back down by a 3-0 loss to Iran. That leaves them facing Afghanistan in a do-or-die contest, where the stakes could not be higher for the Men in Blue.
