Twelve games unbeaten (2016-2017)
Having been knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifiers, the Indian football team stepped up, going on a 12-game unbeaten streak. During this run, India qualified for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup and won the 2017 Tri-Nation Series.
Stephen Constantine’s side started their dream run with a 1-0 win over Laos on 2nd June 2016 and kept this streak active until 14th November 2017 as they drew 2-2 with Myanmar. India registered 10 wins and 2 draws in these 12 games.

Indian football team went on an 11-game unbeaten streak in 2023, starting off with a 1-0 win over Myanmar in March. India stitched nine wins, which included two from penalty shootouts in this run before eventually losing out to Iraq in a penalty shootout in September 2023.
During this run, Igor Stimac’s side won the Tri-Nation Series, the Intercontinental Cup, and the SAFF Championship. Interestingly, all eleven matches were played at home, certainly helping India’s cause.

Nine games unbeaten (2021)
Igor Stimac’s Indian football team enjoyed a decent year, going on to win the SAFF Championship to cap off 2021. Aside from their 8th SAFF title, India went on a nine-match unbeaten run that started with a 2-0 win against Bangladesh in June.
Sunil Chhetri and company won the SAFF Final against Nepal in December 2021 and eventually lost 2-1 to Bahrain in March 2022, to end their unbeaten run. The Blue Tigers picked up five wins and four draws in these nine games.
