Blue Tigers to have training camp in Thailand to prepare for the Hong Kong match.

The Indian football team are scheduled to play a preparatory friendly match against Thailand in preparation for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Hong Kong on June 10. The fixture to be played on June 4 is part of comprehensive training camp aimed at enhancing India’s performance following their recent goalless draw against Bangladesh.

A source close to the development revealed to Khel Now, “Indian Football Team will camp in Thailand for a week and play a friendly match against Thailand before travelling to Hong Kong.”

The camp in Thailand is part of Marquez’s plan to acclimatize the Indian football team players to different conditions and provide them with the opportunity to face competitive international opponents.

Manolo Marquez wants to up performance levels

Following the game against Bangladesh, Manolo Marquez expressed his dissatisfaction with the Indian football team’s performance against the Bengal Tigers while emphasising the necessity for better preparation and cohesion. To address these concerns, the team will first conduct a training camp in India, whose details are yet to be finalised, before heading to Thailand for an intensive camp.

The friendly match against Thailand is expected to allow the coaching staff to assess the player combinations and strategies ahead of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Hong Kong.

While the higher-ups believe that the structured training camps and international exposure will equip the players with the necessary skills, the Spaniard will be hoping the experience also reignites the team’s hunger to compete effectively on the Asian stage.
