Indian Women's Football Team FIFA Ranking Graph in 2025

The Blue Tigresses are currently ranked 67th in the world.
The Indian women’s football team endured a mixed year in 2025, reflected starkly in the FIFA World Rankings that saw the Blue Tigresses dip to their lowest levels in a long time.
As the global football calendar drew toward its close, India’s position fluctuated widely, highlighting both on-field struggles and signs of struggle in a challenging international landscape.

Has the Indian Women’s Football Team performed in 2025?

At the start of 2025, India sat outside the top 65 in the FIFA rankings following a difficult 2024 that saw wins in short supply and disappointing results at different spells. Throughout the year, a series of uneven performances followed; however, the ranking has fluctuated since that time, with the team also qualifying for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
The team has seen a disappointing drop after six losses out of a total of 13 games in 2025. India has slipped from the 63th spot in the rankings to the 67th spot in the latest update released in December 2025.
With victories coming hard to come by in 2025, the decline is a realistic reflection of a challenging year for Indian women in football. The Indian Women’s Football Team has also lost their last three games in the recently concluded Tri-Nation International Friendlies against Nepal and Iran.

AFC Women’s Asia Cup lies ahead for the Blue Tigresses

The year 2026 holds new optimism and an opportunity to move past the world rankings setbacks, with the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup under the stewardship of coach Crispin Chettri. The Blue Tigresses have an opportunity to make some noise in the competition’s 2026 edition and make a concerted effort to improve their FIFA World Rankings.
The Indian Women’s Football Team will be kicking off their campaign with an opening game against Vietnam in Perth, Australia, on March 4, 2026. The team have a challenging group with teams like Japan and Chinese Taipei, who will be key games to ensure progression into the next stage.
Looking towards 2026 and beyond, the team’s FIFA ranking trajectory will be influenced heavily by upcoming games, success for Crispin Chettri, and the integration of emerging talents. For now, the 2025 graph tells a story of struggle amid bad results — a national football side fighting to find themselves again on the AFC stage first and later on the global stage after a year of testing results and frustrating fortunes.
