Forca Kochi are yet to register a win in the Super League Kerala 2025

Thiruvananthapuram Kombans emerged victorious against Forca Kochi in the first matchday of the Round 7 fixtures of the Super League Kerala. The SLK action came to the Maharajas College Ground for one last time this season.

In the first half, Abdul Badish provided a precisely tailored through ball into the final third, which deceived the entire Forca Kochi defensive unit, and went straight to Kalid Roshan. He chipped the ball into the back of the net to score the solitary goal of the match. In the second half, both teams were reduced to ten men, but the score line remained the same, and the Kombans earned a rather unconventional win at Kochi in the Super League Kerala.

Kalid breaks deadlock

Initially, Forca Kochi started a yard ahead of the Kombans, pressing well and making some offensive initiatives in an attempt to put pressure on the Kombans’ backline. However, the visiting side remained composed in the defence and ensured that there were no spaces left at the back, and Satyajit was not tested at the goal.

In the 17th minute, after a rather defensive game, Kombans found the back of the net courtesy of Kalid Roshan. Abdul Badish made a darting run in the midfield to provide an excellent through ball into the final third, which entirely shattered the Kochi defence and reached Kalid, who chipped the ball over the keeper to provide the Kombans with the advantage.

Later, Kombans continued their attempts to attack, but were unable to find the back of the net as most of their shots lacked adequate weight. Kochi, on the other hand, struggled to control the ball in the final third. Whenever they initiated their attacks, it was immediately neutralised by the Kombans’ backline.

Kombans get their second consecutive victory

The second half started on a slower note as both teams failed to completely challenge the opponent’s defensive unit, and the game was dominated more or less in the midfield. Both Forca and Kombans managed to win a good number of set-pieces from some dangerous positions, but to their dismay, all of the attempts missed the goal by inches.

In the 67th minute, Rijohn brought down the Kombans’ last man to the ground, Paulo Victor, just outside the penalty box, leading to a send-off, putting the hosts to a one-man deficit for the remaining thirty-odd minutes. However, just minutes later, the Kombans’ defender, Sarif Khan, made a rash foul in the centre of the pitch, leading to a second yellow. The Kombans were down to 10 men, but Kochi failed to make the most of that numerical superiority.

Kombans have now squeezed their way to the third position with ten points, while Forca Kochi, having lost all their matches, are at the bottom of the table with zero points after their Round 7 fixtures in the Super League Kerala.
