Top three teams who can win I-League 2023-24 & earn ISL Promotion
A trio of I-League clubs will be battling out for top honours this season.
As the I-League 2024-2025 season is set to get underway, the battle for grabbing the solitary promotion spot is fiercer than ever before. With the coveted reward resulting in a chance to participate in the glitz and glamour of the Indian Super League (ISL) awaiting the champions, the stakes have never been higher.
Among the 12 teams competing for the top spot this season, three teams stand out above all others and appear the most likely contenders to claim the title.
Triumph in the second division of Indian football will secure their financial viability and increase their ability to climb up the proverbial footballing ladder. The winner also has a chance to cement their place in history as a club playing in India’s premier football competition.
Inter Kashi

Sreenidi Deccan FC has been a force to reckon with in recent seasons, consistently finishing in the top 2 positions of the I-League table. However, the club have never been able to secure the coveted top spot. A club known for their disciplined gameplay and tactical adaptability, Sreenidi is led by a talented mix of Indian and foreign players.
With an experienced coaching setup and a solid track record, the team will feel it’s their time to shine this time around. The club finds itself in a position to capitalize and build on the positives from the last few campaigns and finally clinch the elusive league title. The club will be desperate to finally get the job done this time with their uncanny ability to grind out results, even in tough situations.

Gokulam Kerala FC
Entering the 18th season of I-League, Gokulam Kerala FC are one of the league’s most decorated teams. Having won back-to-back I-League titles in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, the talented club from Kerala have all the ammunition needed for clinching the top spot.
A team renowned for their attacking flair and tactical discipline, Gokulam boasts a roster of players like Martín Cháves and Emil Benny, who are capable of turning games on their heads.
The club have an X-Factor in terms of their ability to deliver results and their championship-laden history makes them perennial favorites once again. Gokulam’s focus will be on reclaiming their forgotten dominance and becoming the team to win promotion to the ISL, a fitting reward for their sustained excellence over the years.
