Top three Oman players to watch out for against India in CAFA Nations Cup 2025

After a brilliant group stage, the Reds will be eager to end the campaign on a positive note. For Oman, there are a lot of positives from the tournament. The draw against Uzbekistan would be the biggest of all. Isaam Al Sabhi

Issam Al Sabhi is the man who made this third-place match for Oman in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 a reality. Had he not scored a brace in the dying embers of the second game against Kyrgyzstan, the Reds would not have finished second in their group.

The Indian defence, without their leader Sandesh Jhingan, will have to be cautious of Issam Al Sabhi’s threat. The forward has the ability to stun the defenders with his movement in the final third. His aerial presence will also test the Indian defenders.

Thani Al Rushaidi

The veteran defender would be a big challenge for the inexperienced Indian attack, which has not been able to do anything of note in the tournament so far. Thani Al Rushaidi has been vital for Oman in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025. He also played an instrumental role in keeping the lethal Uzbekistan forwards at bay.

The 30-year-old versatile player recently got his first international cap for the Reds, but has made significant strides in consolidating his place in the team.

Jameel Al Yahmadi

Jameel Al Yahmadi is the main source of threat for India on the right wing. The pacy winger can give a torrid time to the inexperienced Indian left-back Muhammad Uvais. Yahmadi has created multiple chances for Oman in this tournament, showing his potential.

Yahmadi has been in fine form in the Oman Pro League. He had eight goal contributions in twenty appearances in the Oman top division last season. If India manage to stop Yahmadi’s advances on the right wing, Oman might struggle to create chances.
