Looking at recent results, this is gold! - Twitter reacts to India's draw against Vietnam

A new era for India as they scored the first goal under Manolo Marquez.
The friendly football match between Vietnam and India was held at the Thien Truong Stadium in Nam Định and ended in a 1-1 draw. In this friendly match, we saw both teams try and make sure that all things fell in place ahead of the tournaments each would enter. Vietnam were preparing for the ASEAN Cup, while India were checking cohesion in the squad. The match turned out to produce a mixture of reactions on Twitter, especially from Indian fans who seemed to be very divided in their responses.
Early dominance of Vietnam, India’s struggle
Vietnam took an early lead in the first half courtesy of an unfortunate own goal by India’s goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. The mistake committed by the current Indian goalkeeper has left many surprised, and a negative tone seems to be setting in on social media. Vietnam took the cue from here and continued to press with superior ball possession and attacking play that kept India on the back foot for most of the first half. The eventual equaliser through Farukh Chaudhary in the second half brought out mixed emotions amongst the Indian fans, ranging from anger and cautious optimism.
Frustration is displayed by Indian fans
A large section of Indian fans protested against the performance that the team had put up while pinpointing several key issues. Many people pointed at a lack of coordination among the players, and an overall lousy commitment from the entire squad, questioning whether such results would get them through bigger challenges ahead.
Criticism at coach Manolo Márquez
Another target of frustration was Manolo Márquez, the newly-appointed head coach of the Indian team. The feeling among fans is that his influence has not yet been felt, and some are even doubting his ability to take the team in the right direction. Despite all the criticism, there were a few who gave a positive approach. Some recognized it was a friendly match, and perhaps the team were still working on finding rhythm under Márquez.
