Kajol Hubert D’Souza plays professional football for the Indian National team. She is from Pune, Maharashtra, and plays in the midfield region. She is an exceptional Indian talent, rare in the women’s sector. According to her coaches, she is known for her prolific and sharp technical skills and extraordinary football IQ.

She was influenced by her mother, Gratia D’Souza, and started playing football in 2014. She used to play football with her brother Kian and his friends. Her mother, a sprinter, is from Mangalore, and her father is from Pune.

She studied at The Bishop’s School and joined the Arsenal school programme in her early days. She trained at the LaLiga Academy, Madrid and studied there from September 2023 to June 2024.

She played for Parikrama (2021-2022) and Sethu Club (2022-2024), scoring 14 goals in his 18 appearances for Sethu FC. She also joined Odisha FC before joining Al-Amal SC in Saudi Arabia.

The turning point in her football career came when she played for the national team at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. She played group games against the United States, Morocco, and Brazil in that tournament.

Earlier, she had made her debut for the junior Indian team. She continued to play in the domestic circuit and the age-group international matches, maintaining a great record for the national team. She is a playmaker and attacking midfielder, with the ability to make progressive passes while breaking through the defensive line.

Kajol’s prolific goal-scoring ability and hunger for improvement have made her an even more exceptional talent in women’s football. But a move to a foreign club at the age of just 19 will enhance and sharpen her abilities. This will strengthen her chances of playing in the Indian team in the future as well.

  • 2020: Played for Pune, which won the Inter-district championship at Jalgaon.
  • 2021: Played for La Liga Schools, Pune, and Parikrama Club in the IWL.
  • 2022: Tour of Italy for the 6th Torneo Female Football tournament and Tour of Norway for the Open Nordic U-16 Tournament.
  • 2022: Debut for Junior India. Played in the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup; Played group games against the United States, Morocco, and Brazil.
  • 2023: AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers in Vietnam.
