India will be playing two friendly games against Uzbekistan in this window.

India and Uzbekistan are all set to rekindle their long-standing rivalry in women’s football as they meet for the 14th time in a FIFA International Friendly on Friday, May 30. The match will kick off at 4:30 PM IST at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru.

For the Indian Women’s Football Team, this clash marks the start of their final preparations before the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. The Blue Tigresses are set to play the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 qualifiers from June 23 to July 5, in Group B against Mongolia (June 23), Timor-Leste (June 29), Iraq (July 2), and hosts Thailand (July 5).

India, currently ranked 69th in the FIFA rankings, come into this fixture after back-to-back defeats against South Korea and Russia in the Pink Ladies Cup earlier this year. Despite those losses, Crispin Chettri’s side have shown moments of promise, with earlier wins over the Maldives and Jordan.

On the other hand, Uzbekistan, ranked 50th, have also endured a tough run of form. They have registered only one win in five matches this year — a narrow victory against Jordan — and suffered heavy defeats to China and Zambia.

Historically, Uzbekistan have dominated this fixture, winning nine of the previous 13 meetings. India have managed just one win, which came back in 2003, while the last encounter in June 2024 ended in a goalless draw.
